Questions or discussions about Almea or Verduria-- also the Incatena. Also good for postings in Almean languages.

Translation task

Post by Exez »

A friend needs to translate "Life is beautiful" in as many languages and conlangs possible.

I decided to help him with the Almean languages. ;)

My biggest concern is that I can't be sure whether beautiful in these languages ought to be understood strictly as visual beauty. The lexicons however don't note such a distinction as in other ambiguous words.

This is how far I got:

Proto-Eastern: *alir lawres eses
Cuezi: taiggâ ê niōra (not sure about the gender)
Cadhinor: elir lures es
Verdurian: so elir e beluán
Ismain: se elŕ e lŕe
Barakhinei: il eli ê lirê

Axunashin: elis rori zi
Xurnash: elic reu

(to be continued...)

Do you want non-Almean languages?

I don't think you need the article in Verdurian. I'm not sure about the others.

I would assume the opposite. But I'm no Verdurian, so I can't say :P
