I seem to recall there was a Mercator map of Almea floating around...does it still exist?

The best one is this one:

Wow, that's... not nearly as horrid as I expected it to be. Apparently the Mercator projection isn't so terrible if you just don't put land too close to the poles.

Though Téllinor is pretty streched out. So's parts of Lebiscuri.

Are you sure that's Mercator? Based on the dimensions, it looks like equirectangular to me. (But what do I know?)

Seems to me, too. It just doesn't look like Mercator.

Yes, it's equirectangular, sorry for any confusion.

here's a quick mockup in GProjector:

Yeah, like Brandrinn said, that's really not as terrible as one would think, though of course Palthuknen is acting like Greenland. It looks not very much smaller than Arcél, if it looks smaller at all.

Yeah, that picture zompist put up
has to be plate caree.
Mercator just doesn't make flat tops like that. It stretches things out to the poles. Infinitely. Those muffin tops aren't
necessarily plate caree, but that's a good guess. Of course once you have a plate caree the options for reprojection software open up greatly.
Assuming that almea_mercator.jpg was in plate caree, this is the sinusoidal projection. I rotated the coordinates about 13º to the east to minimize the edge overlap of shorelines.
Given that this isn't interrupted like zompist's original it's a good fit.

Are those lines of latitude at 15 degree intervals?

Well, I ask because if so, Xengiman shouldn't be an agricultural region.
