It's a bit odd to bring this up, but I did want to clarify. In the appendix to Babblers, mention is made of Beretos marking some Caďinor words with pitch symbols (eg. Ctēsifon). Yet in official references to Cuêzi on the main site, it was said to be an innovation of Silver Age scribes, first used in grammars and the holy books. So...which came first, the Babblers or Grammarians?

Oops. Well, the only way to square this is that the Silver Age diacritics were not what Beretos used; there were other fitful attempts to indicate the pitch accent.

If I might make a suggestion, could he have maybe used doubled vowels for the high tone? So his version of Ctēsifon would be Cteesifon? Beretos being away from the mainstream fashions, he might have tried to solve the problem somewhat pragmatically.
