Untranslatable buildings in the city maps

I've noticed a few buildings in maps of the city, mostly purple ones, which have names that don't seem to correspond to any words in the thematic dictionary (http://www.zompist.com/thematic.htm). For example in Arcaln, there's the "Aði Melaštié" and the "Aði Arinei".

What exactly are these buildings? Are they temples, or forts, or something else? Could the thematic dictionary possibly be updated with some newer words?

Purple buildings are temples.

There are a lot of names on the map which are either surnames or place names. They won't be in the dictionary, but there are other sources (e.g. the list of names).

You should generally rely on the Verdurian-English dictionary... the thematic dictionary would be a major project to bring up to date, sorry. Also, of course, many of the names are noun phrases rather than single words! "Aďi Arinei" means "gods of Arin (island)"; "Aďi Melaštië" means "gods of the nobles".

Another question on this topic-alot of the maps in Verduria city have vast swaths of white road material in some sections, for example to the north of the quartermaster in Arcaln. Judging size by the cemisa scale given in some maps, many these sections are several hundred meters long and wide. If orange indicates building infrastructure, then should I assume that these sections are large, relatively featureless plazas?

Yes. Arcaln is a fortress and the main base of the army, so you can picture those areas as parade grounds, exercise areas, and such.
