LangMaker Top 100

Post by jburke »

Verdurian's #59 on the LangMaker Top 100 today.

http://www.langmaker.com/

I keep wincing at that date of 1978; the language is almost as old as I am.

Just 59???!!

Ah, it's a ranking of which languages get the most hits on his site.

Nice to see that my Syldavian page is on there too.

I was looking through there, and I was wondering: what is a primer and babel text?

A primer is a learning manual, for those who want to actually learn the language. And the Babel Text is a standard Biblical quote that's used as common translation ground for all languages.

Qrac, please, there's a forum for shameless plugs, and it's None of the Above.

If you don't take notice of the forum heading (never mind the subject of the actual thread), nobody will reply to your posts.

Very true, but we must preserve them so posterity can laugh at Ghost's earlier, less mature phase.

No offense intended, Ghost.

I'm not quite sure why Spacey revived this thread, given his lack of christianity-worshipping. Maybe he has an obsession with it. Most likely is he just wanted to increase his post count.

I was just plugging random numbers into the topic field in the viewtopic.php query thing. Obviously, I intentionally used 666 just to see what it was.

I don't know why anyone would want that.

However, this is my 666th post, so I thought it'd be appropriate to post it here
< Cev> My people we use cars. I come from a very proud car culture-- every part of the car is used, nothing goes to waste. When my people first saw the car, generations ago, we called it šuŋka wakaŋ-- meaning "automated mobile".

None taken. If I wasn't so embarrased by my pre-Ghost life, I'd laugh too.
