What exactly is a Shrayom?

A unit in Zomp's Civ2 Almea setting. It is used for long-range artillery, IIRC.

Shrayom as a Verdurian word means "wizard."

Ok, thank ou I was curious as to what a Shrayom was seeing as though I recently "became" one on this board. Which has me wondering... is there pre set numbers of posts in which you reach different levels.. such as Flaid.. which is what you start out at, Gdeon, Ilii, and Shrayom

There is a set number, and I believe it goes something like:

Flaid- 4
Gdeon- 64
Ilii- 128
Shrayom- 256

Hmm, might not be a bad idea. Maybe "Adh" at 512 posts.

Well, there is lots of characters. i thought, Ktuvok for starters, of course, {bringing up the group conworld} we can't all be gods {duck

}

There must be more, but i've got two exams tomorrow and my brain is overloaded with Latin and English terminology

Yeah but it has to be something higher than "Shrayom" and who want's to be stuck as a ktuvok? I think "Adh" is perfectly suitable.

Yah, we need some new ranks. Maybe I'll just quintuple all the threshholds.

I'll probably try something new-- not sure what yet.

Ktuvoki could seperate Gdeon from Ilii,

Adh should be something incredibly high though, like 2000 or something very high.

Like zomp said he could quintuple the thresholds, which would not be a bad idea but then he could add Kktuvoki and Adh

2,000 seems a little too high - even Zomp wouldn't be an Adh yet!

Precisely, God is quite an honour to achieve wouldn't it be? I mean you could have it at like 1000 but personally I wouldn't set it on anything less than 2,000. its something to try and achieve.

Eh, I don't think he was serious about the quintupling. Then you wouldn't even reach Shrayom till 1280 posts, which no one has yet. And I don't see any reason that 'Adh' should be some unreachable summit, just because of (presumably) its name. The best solution to the rank troubles right now would be to simply add another rank at the top of the list, not somewhere in the middle, and 'Adh' seems as good a choice as any.

"Adh" could be at around 1024 posts. Would be harder to get, and then you get more of a sense of achievement at becoming one.

I remember being on some old message board (can't remember what it was about) for one year (Dec. '00 to Apr. '02) where there was this one guy who reached up to at least 20000 posts!

It was a very large online community though, with more than 7000 members. No other message board can beat that, or so I hear.

To Shades: I know you've registered here a few days before I did, but you have about 6 times as many posts as I do. So you can tell I don't talk (or technically, type) much.
