Conlangs With Non Human Phonology

Substantial postings about constructed languages and constructed worlds in general. Good place to mention your own or evaluate someone else's. Put quick questions in C&C Quickies instead.

I'm fumbling with a sign-language made by creatures with six arms supplemented by a sort of Morse, as they also have six eyes. There's also something with teeth gnashing and clinking together, as they have many strong teeth but relatively poor hearing. A little deep growling, some whistling/squeaking, but really not a lot of phon- in it.

I'm creating a language based on frequency intervals produced by a mechanism similar to whistling - the species in question has five whistling holes. The name of the people who speak the particular language that I'm creating, for example, is 11:8.
I did have a bizarrely similar (to the original poster's) accident about four years ago, in which I slipped over a cookie and somehow twisted my ankle so far that it broke
What kind of cookie?

Not my own conlang, but the most non-human conlang I've ever seen was an attempt to make a lang for Homestuck's trolls, based on some particularly interesting (if not canonically supported) biological speculation.

The main features of this were

1) a completely one-way pulmonary system, breathing in through the mouth and nose and breathing out through spiracles, which means that everything is ingressive and there are no pauses for breath, and

2) Two larynges, which leads to some really weird composite vowels and tones. Also,

3) Two abnormally dextrous epiglottises, capable of epiglottal affricates.

So it was an exclusively ingressive, language with no pauses, the ability to produce two separate tones or consonants at the same time, and the consonants were all freaky epiglottals and a wide inventory of clicks and buzzes for emphasis and emotional marking.

Holy shit that's fantastic. I'm still reading through but that's fucking awesome. And I won't stop swearing about it until I hear someone program a goddamn vocoder program or sound software to make those sounds real.

Also, perhaps a bit over the top but yeah... that's fantastically thought out.
