I would have assumed (as some sources say happened in Russian and Hindi), that "Worcester" would be borrowed over based on it's pronunciation, i.e. /ˈwʊstə~ˈwʊstɚ/, rather than its spelling.
On a related note, I do find it funny when people try and say something like /wəsɛstəʃə sɔs/ really fast
