Well, "easy" is a relative concept. When compared to for example Japanese, yes, you are right.

I'm currently developing a proto language for a language familiy. It has phonology and phonotactics, and a bit of syntax. But it isn't developed enough to write something here.

I generally forget to say, so if it's relevant and I don't mention it--I'm from Southern Michigan and speak Inland North American English. Yes, I have the Northern Cities Vowel Shift; no, I don't have the cot-caught merger; and it is called pop.
We shouldn't cross the river, though. The Greeks[1]have strict border laws, and they will enforce them.
[1]Specifically, the Byzantines or at least the modern variant of them as present in this timeline. Most societies in this timeline refer to Byzantium as either "Rome", "Grecia", or "(the) Greeks". Carpathia's southern border ends along the Danube, and the Byzantine successor state known as the United States of Rome (specifically the state of Balkania) lies on the other side.

*In my timeline, a species of genetically modified bass were released into the hudson river (in this timeline, it's clean). Since then, they've become a popular food amongst New Yorkers. It didn't have a name until a child said "Wacca," and the name stuck.

We'll need to either stay near the river's mouth at New Oslo or hire some Carpathian bodyguards who'll protect us from border patrol.
[1]In this timeline, North America has mostly been freed from European colonial powers such as Niórua, Spáinn, Fionlain and Éire (Niórua still holds Áoslu No/New York City, Rógelan No/New Brunswick+Nova Scotia, and Haida Gwaii, while Alaska is its own nation ruled by former Spáinnis colonists), replaced with governments built around the most successful Native American peoples: the Cherokee, Sioux (Lakota) and Huron (Wyandot), along with the Fox (Meskwaki) ruling over Shikakwa (Chicago) as a sort of neutral center between the three empires. While the Cherokee Nation is relatively liberal and allows other native peoples and descendants of European colonists to live amongst them with little trouble, the Sioux and Huron Nations have less flattering views of peoples of European descent; the Spáinnis (who held much of Huron's modern lands in Eastern Canada) were more than willing to commit genocide to gain land, while Éire (who held much of Sioux's lands in Western and Central Canada) instead set up penal colonies to send natives to. Now that the nations are independent and sovereign, they took it upon themselves to kick the Europeans out of their borders, and tourism from Europe in the two nations is very strictly regulated (the fact that Huron's government has been aggressively fascist since 1907 probably hasn't helped its case).
If they're just larger than normal, we could grab some of those big worms they bred in Jolof[1].
[1]The modern variant of the Jolof Empire, populated by the Wolof people. In our timeline, the empire fizzled out in 1549 and its territory today is occupied by Senegal and Mauritania. In this timeline, the empire not only survived, but also westernized (à la Russia under Catherine) at some point in the 18th century thanks to neighboring Mali who in turn westernized in the 16th century thanks to its proximity with the Neo-Egyptian Empire (the predecessor of the modern Three Holy Kingdoms). Jolof became known in the 19th century for discovering genetics, and in the 20th century the nation was responsible for a large number of studies pertaining to biological augmentation and genetic engineering.
