"Daroshi" has me thinking Tori is located in the Hindu Kush.

(I doubt it actually is provided you're setting it in a conworld, but "Darosh I" is an administrative unit in Northern Pakistan.)

Hasdrubal wrote:(Did I gloss that right?)
(Personally, I just refer to Wikipedia's glossing abbreviation list and use those, along with a small few extra abbreviations not included on that page, in tandem with this forum's built-in glossing tag, seen in the formatting list as "g=". It works like this:)

Code: Select all

[g=Daroshi]"Darošü"[/g] [g=Tori-]Torj-[/g][g=SEMB]ufum[/g] [g=Hindu Kush-]Khį̈ndëkëç-[/g][g=mountain range-]tejïł-[/g][g=LOC-]eŕïkh-[/g][g=PL-]ïsïm-[/g][g=PRS]jekh[/g] [g=seem-]ëšdeŕ-[/g][g=PRS]jekh.[/g]
(As you saw above, the tag spaces the bits out and matches the bits on the first line [contained between the opening and closing tags] with their corresponding translation/part of speech on the second line [contained within the opening "g" tag itself]. Not everyone uses it, but it's a nifty little tool. As far as I can tell, glossing doesn't really have an official standard [except for the one demanded by whatever school you go to :P] as long as you make it clear what you're trying to convey.)
