Nobody did 'flash flood' so I'll do it.

Poswa:

plum blabwam from plum "because of rain" (rain itself is pleb, and this is an irregular), compounded with blabwam "flood" (this word wouldn't fulfill the sense of meaning by itself because a flood could also come from a dam bursting or even just be a metaphorical flood). blabwam comes from an older compound, not transparent anymore, meaning to push away (blaba) dirt (wam) by pouring water on it. So the full expression is "because of rain, dirt washes away". This is what I understand a flash flood to be. But if you use it to mean just any flood that happens quickly, regardless of its cause, you would probably want to say something like blabwam baesapum "flood (which is) sudden or unexpected". (Baesapum is another compound, this time meaning "at a specific (and thus very short (baesa)) time (pum)".)
