I think he just means that he didnt realize Popeye was named for his bulging eyes (which I think are not as much of a distinguishing characteristic of him as they were in the original B&W cartoons).

săno means spoon in Kuroras, which is pretty close to a ladel. The Poswa cognate, san, means shovel.

m. senci "venom". Etymology: from Peran sinki "of mistletoe", from sinu "mistletoe", due to the toxicity of that plant.

Hmm... Thí fidum... (Bengedian: "I'll try..." :D)

Bengedian:
icla "wheel"
íclašamu "tire", lit. 'wheel-covering'

Old Bengedian:
rai jéklā "wheel" (f.)

Niwari:
metcol "pierce", "puncture"
memmetcol "perforate" (from metcol + reduplication)

Etymology: tcol from Eng. through (whence Niw. tcu 'pass through') and Eng. hole (cf. Niw. bejol 'hole in the ground', 'grave', from Eng. bury + hole). Memmetcol is derived through reduplication of metcol.
