Now that I'm on dial-up I might actually get to listen to these!
It was about time I changed this.

as compared to/with not being on anything.

(and there's a certain soothing quality to the dial-up sounds)

^^Dialup demands forethought and self control to step away from the computer when you realize things are never going to load and that you'll miss your movie date that you planned if you don't get out the door now...

back on topic, this was a fantastic podcast. I will admit that when I heard you guys say you went a little over (2 hours) on the podcast, my first thought was "an hour and a half of lexicon-building, then half an hour of Dothraki? I think we've all won the lottery today."

mind, it's very good even an hour of lexicon-building.

True - and you also learn what's safe to sit on, and what will only aggrivate you and the hemorrhoids. (thus it is with chairs, thus it is with websites)

Glancing through the archives, I don't see an episode about pragmatics. Did I miss it, or have you seriously gone this long without addressing that topic? Also, you should ask Salmoneus on, because I've always wondered what he sounds like.

Pragmatics is -- weird to talk about. We kind of touch on it fairly often. I think it is on our list.

As far as Salmoneus being on, we're pretty open about having people in the community come on the show, but he'd have to ask (or be the featured conlanger, in which case we'd ask him).

I just listened to it. Great fun. So are the other episodes I've heard recently!

Also, I just recorded the intro greeting in Vanga. The link to the MP3 file is here!

I really enjoyed the Animacy and Agency episode; a lot to think about.

I have to commend you; you sound very fluent in your conlang. For my own, I'll forever sound like an American tourest reading from a phrasebook. I must say, though: Vanga has a very... unique sound to it.

It took about 80 takes to record, though, haha. Thanks! Good thing it does sound like its own thing!

So did I! Vanga has an animacy distinction, so it was nice to get some more viewpoints. I think I'll listen to some of it again right away.

It's so great to have you guys doing this amazing work every single week for more than a year. I can't say enough how much I appreciate it.
