Not as telling as:
Money for funding this project will come from somewhere. Maybe I'll sell a few books, or get a job as a janitor. My first dilemma, or choice, is to decide if THAT should be a flat planet or round planet. It could also exist as both. I think I'll let my computer decide.
Why a planet? A basic answer is I need a place to put my stuff. I am currently homeless and couch surfing. This condition, to put it bluntly, sucks! I am also thinking that THAT might be the first intergalactic homeless shelter.
I suppose that I'll need some tools to create my planet, my hands and my mind are a given necessity. I own some general carpentry and plumbing tools but will have a definite need for electronic and computer repair tools. Dental and surgical tools are important too, as are chef's tools. I will also need beer making tools, because without beer, what's the point?! In fact, I will need flowers and bees, and honey to brew meed. I'll need grapes for wine. Alcohol will get the action moving. I imagine Earth will supply most of the initial resources to get planet THAT going, after which the plan is to become entirely self sufficient. The power for planet THAT will be solar power supplied by the sun. I'll need Oceans, sky, robots, dirt, metal, computers, sand, movies, and bicycles. Cars and TV will be off the list , because I want to see if I can live without them. I currently own a car but no TV. To make $ to get THAT off the ground, the plan is to write asemic scripts to direct the action on Earth. Asemic writing is an essential component for the entire project. I'll tell more about it soon!
I am sure that any day now I will crash on THAT. Hopefully I'll be able to walk away from the situation with my mynd intact, or at least half my mynd intact. One of the most important objects that will be housed on THAT is my Paranoia Machine (the hat I wear on the internet). The PM is a scary book. I don't think that the Earth can handle the weight of its existence. The PM is my peripheral vision reading machine. It's my nightmare machine. It's a book with no beginning and no end. The pages of The PM just spin around in circles in an orbit beyond the lens. I like to read the PM when I am hanging out at The Cafe Decameron. The Cafe D is the only cafe on THAT, and the cafe is currently hiring. The ideal employee will be familiar with a Babel Fish/ xenolinguistics, and French Lettrisme. I don't own the cafe but I am a regular.

Maybe I am just too inclined to give the benefit of the doubt, but I was kind of hoping that most of that was tongue in cheek. The idea that it might not be is too horrifying.

I take it that means you know lots of people who really believe they can conjure up an imaginary place out of beer and then go live there in actuality?

I'm not sure whether this stems from a vast misunderstanding of several concepts, or just insanity. Maybe both.
After ordering a pint of his favorite ale, Robert was perplexed when the barmaid replied that the fishmonger was next door. The Great English Vowel Shift had begun.

I don't see this project as if I am completely off my rocker. Google is digitizing Earth: http://www.google.com/earth/index.html

So Earth may become the first virtual world in our solar system. I can foresee a future where we have an AI virtual Earth and good old Earth, the "real" world. THAT is aiming to count sand and shoot robotic arrows at synthetic buffalo--spice up the solar system a little.

So how much "general carpentry and plumbing" do you usually use when you browse Google Earth?

What do you think "digitize" means in this context?
< Cev> My people we use cars. I come from a very proud car culture-- every part of the car is used, nothing goes to waste. When my people first saw the car, generations ago, we called it šuŋka wakaŋ-- meaning "automated mobile".

Quite a bit. I like to use 8 penny nails like acupuncture. It helps to numb the pain of having to take care of an entire planet!

So not only do you have no idea what anything else is, you also have no idea what "carpentry" is.

Also, answer Miekko's fucking question.

I think this has to be a troll. I'm not sure if the self-published "novels" full of meaningless scribbles linked from the blog make that more or less likely to be true, actually.

I agree, it is a bad trip. Earth is fucked up in so many ways, I can see why people create conworlds. My work stems from the time I have spent on Earth. I don't mean to escape from Earth, on the contrary, I think Earth is a fabulous place with a lot to offer, but it definitely is far from perfect.

And what's wrong with "meaningless" scribles?

In addition to your conplaneting venture, do you plan on making a conlang?
I think that THAT would be all the more real if it had it's own cosmic tongue.

If you do, any idea of what it would be like?
I noticed a set of card-shaped symbols:

I think I would like to use asemic writing as a proto-language and have new writing systems develop from it. The cards are zener cards. They are to test for esp. I would like to create a language that goes beyond the cards. THAT will probably need system restore points in case things go wrong with its communications. The goal with THAT is to create a world where dreams can be realized, and not to create another prison. Language is secondary but not unimportant. I'm no Noam Chomsky, but I do realize that language will need to function beyond my own ratty English. It's a lot to think about, that's why I have yet to draw a circle.

I was thinking it would mean "Everyone loves eating bacon."
The circle representing all (people), the plus some kind of particle (maybe directional), the square a mouth (like the kanji for Japanese kuchi), and the star a symbol for happiness or enjoyment.

I didn't draw the cards. I lifted them off of wikipedia for a short blurb I wrote about telepathy.
