I realized that, actually, this is just not going to happen-I'm too busy with life and my own projects. I had made a quick post with some sound changes that need to be tweaked a bit to handle the new proto-phonology. Would anybody be willing- if anybody wants to join, or just wants to play around a little more- to work with those sound changes and pick up where I left off? I'd like to stay on the board as a member of Team 1- I might pop in to help reconstruct the other team's language.

I'd like to, though I'm not sure how much time I'll have. I should be able to, though.

I'm out again. I simply cannot muster any interest in this project any more, and have too many worries to find the leisure to work on this. Farewell.

Sorry to hear that, WeepingElf. Your work has been invaluable in getting Team 2 off the ground, and I hope you don't feel unappreciated. Thanks for everything you've done for the project :)

Dhokarena, sorry to hear you're going too, though of course I've seen none of your work.
Lyhoko Leaci - you'd be welcome to join in, if the current members of Team 1 agree.

I can only second what Duke has said. Sorry to see the two of you go.

Lyhoko Leaci, of course you're welcome to join Team 1! Just create an account for yourself on the AkanaForum and wait until I can put you on the team memberlist so you can see our materials.

I had a topic with some sound changes...so I suppose Lyhoko would be working with those...

I'm just starting from scratch on my sound changes for the most part, though some of those changes are thrown in, when they actually make sense with the new phonology for the proto-lang.

I have yet to check, but if I'm still on the team list, then pull me out. I lost interest back in December, although my conlanging interests are starting to be piqued again. But, I probably had nothing worthwhile to contribute; I've got a habit of starting things and losing interest quickly, before regaining interest months later. Anyway, thought I'd drop by to officially resign from this project. Got a bit too overwhelmed due to joining late, and just lost interest completely. Hope the rest of you finish, and that the relay doesn't receive the curse!

Fair play - have fun with your other pursuits :)

I don't see any particular reason why not - however, the teams might be getting a bit close to capacity... Up to Cedh to decide, since he's running Team 1.

Still alive here, just terribly busy with end-of-term work! I haven't managed a lot of progress for a couple of weeks and probably won't until next week, when term is over.

On the other hand, I was on IRC (briefly) this morning and Corumayas suggested having a Team 1 people and language invade the Team 2 peninsula; Cedh was also interested in working out contact scenarios between his language and Caedes' Wokatasuto. Are people going to be interested and available for collaborative work? I certainly will be by next week :)

I'm still here.

I'm wondering, could people come up with occasional words that aren't related to anything (not too many, obviously, but 3 or 4 maybe) to simulate borrowing words from some unknown language that probably vanished? (And maybe have a couple languages in the same area borrow this same word?)

I am STILL reconstructing team 2's grammar, based on some quite scarce data.

Neither team has finished their daughter languages... It's just that most people in Team 2 have published some of their work in progress. Only the sketch for Potɑnsʉti is close to finished.

@Lyhoko: I imagine so, as long as there aren't too many. In Team 2 we've borrowed a few words from various Macro-Anatolionesian dialects - you could do something similar, and maybe even use MAnat for borrowings in the eastern Team 1 languages.

Yes, I'm alive.

I've written, like, 1/2 of the intended volume of my grammar, but I was essentially at the same point in early February, and I haven't added a single line to the file in about last two weeks. My schedule is extremely tough these days (I kinda engaged in a project that has chances to become my next job - without quitting my current job, for that wouldn't be prudent ATM).

What's worse, my lexicon is just a list of proto-roots run though the SCA, with only some randomly picked homophone clusters thinned out. I expect lexicon to be the bigger part of the job, and consider it the more important one in terms of supplying Team 1 with material necessary for reconstruction.

I'm not sure I understand how that could be done without having all the involved projects reasonably completed and made public? Otherwise, great idea!

I'd suggest marking such words explicitly as "loans" in our lexicons.

For - indeed, consider the Macro-Anatolionesian loans in Team 2 languages. I'm afraid they may be really misleading - like, provoke reconstructing some fake sound correspondences &like.

Spring Break is coming up for me. I plan to (finally and much belatedly) get down to brass tacks on my contribution to the relay.
