Some notes:
The way contextual spelling representations work is that you can specify the spelling of a phoneme as x|y, which means that the phoneme can be spelled "x" if it precedes the character "y". The parser will also tend to favor interpretations involving special contexts, so if you state that /k/ is spelled <c> but /s/ can be spelled <c|e>, it will interpret <ce> as /se/ rather than /ke/.
The accent bit means that if you define one of your phoneme spellings as, say, ä, it can still have an accent applied to it by a suprasegmental. This is only true for the supported accents.
There should be no extraneous insertion of formatting into the database now, but if you have words that are already generating formatting on output, you'll have to fix that manually. You can do that by making a small change to the word, then undoing it, and clicking "Submit".
