This is my first attempt at constructing an a posteriori conlang, developed for a Celtic Norway that was formed in 959 and granted independence from the Celtic Empire (e. 879) in 1141.

Yes, I know where the Rhine is. Hamburg rests on it, right? France still holds the river.[1]
[1](In this timeline, France takes control of the German states in the 18th century when it was still called Carolingia. Hamb(o)urg was actually held by the Celtic Empire until 1897, though.)
EDIT: I forgot that Hamburg is actually on the Elbe. Whoops. The Rhine is even more French, as Holland became Sans-Carolingiens France's capital after Karling France conquered Paris in 1104.

Mmmm, yes, coffee is much more delicious than tea. When I was a child, my mother made me drink sweet coffee, but now I'm an adult and drink bitter coffee. "Bitter" coffee being black coffee. The literal translation is actually "angry" coffee. Virtually all Sanmra adults drink very strong black coffee, but it's considered too bitter for children, who are given a much sweeter version. Less a "it'll stunt your growth!" thing and more a "their delicate stomachs can't handle it!" thing.

I could also bring some hot chocolate when the coffee runs out. It's a favorite in Niórua, and one that we have plenty of because of our sovereignty over South America.[1][2]
[1]As this timeline diverges majorly starting in 769 AD, the Americas are not known as such because Amerigo Vespucci would not have existed. Instead, North America is known as Nalvastia after Nalvas, the name of the Bjarmian Saamod navigator who helped Martain mua Góchtán of Niórua find Vinland in 1457, and South America is known as Aoncharoinnaí meaning "continent of Incas"; although the Incan Empire was not able to fully form, Cuzco (whose people called their ruler "Inca") did make it far along Peru before being ganged by Chimu and the Charcas Kingdom, and they were the second South American civilization contacted by Niórua after the Muisca.
