There are no hyenas on Tarra, but the Tautínai know the word from Classical Roman authors, and it shows up as a bookish loan hyaena in translations and discussions of said authors. In the Tautisca tradition of pronouncing Latin, it is pronounced [hɪ'ɪ̯e:na], the pronunciation in the (Tarran) Roman tradition is [i'ɪ̯εna].

It also covers catching, but not snatching or stealing.

From a dream I had a few nights ago:
More: show
a parasite was living in humans' digestive systems, secreting a slime that slowed the digestive process such that food would move only very slowly through the intestines. Thus feces were forming high up in the small intestine and mixing with the bile found in the stomach. The slime prevented the mixture from moving downwards through the intestines, so the people with the disease were forced to throw up a mixture of feces, vomit, and the slime that bound them together through both their mouth and nose. For some reason, water triggered the vomiting, so when they threw up the parasite would end up in the water and then enter the nose of the next victim whenever they stuck their face underwater. The dream was so disgusting I didnt even write about it at first.
Poswa:

pobbuwomap, literally "to find feces-vomit", whether one's own or someone else's. This is an abbreviated form of what's in my sig at the moment, using shorter words for the same familiar concepts.

This seems like it ought to be a somewhat early Wanderwort. Let's assume it comes from a slightly earlier form of Kannow. Since the geography of the conworld has been flipped east-west, I'll assume V'eng is spoken to the west of other languages. The word comes to Macro-Vengic after umlaut.

Pre-Kannow i-tshar̄dikŭ-sʼ (some sort of nominalized verbal construction)
- Kannow isyŗjikʷ-sʼ (and syrjikʷ 'spin')
- Sestmag itsediku [ɪdzɪˈgu]
- Proto-Kett čartikʷ
-- Continental Kett čartǘk
-- Insular Kett caréib
--- Arve zäry [ˈtsærʏɥ]
-- Early V'eng cartik
--- V'eng carti'
---- Zzyxwqnp chaxcyt
--- Early (some Narngic language) chatik
---- Rengni tsɛ̄tsí

edit: for some reason I thought you said "spinning wheel"

To misremember:
keqsak.u-bata-n [kɛsːaku bata]
a compound between ket.u [kitsu] and sak.u [saku], literally think-get.wrong (back).

Sample phrase:

keqsaq-le-bata-i-n-kei?
think.wrong-1s.NOM-back-3.ACC-GNO-DUB

[kɛsːɒɬːibataɪ̃ŋkiː]
Maybe I'm misremembering everything?

New word: the feeling of insignificance you get when looking at something open and peaceful or something wondrous
Call me ['nɛkseɪtʃ] / ['nɛksæʃ].
Prefer singular "they" (though I'm actually cis) for the sake of neutrality, though if that disturbs you, "he" or "she" works too.

Oh boy! Thank you. As implied in my sig, this is a very iconic word in Poswa.

Poswa: papapat, from papap "snake" + tatu "to slither"; thus "slithering snake". This padded form of the word was necessary because the original root alone collided with other forms when inflected. Papap itself was originally a compound, from the Gold language form ʕʷak maḳ "to hunt by pushing one's whole body forward". Tatu on the other hand, originally meant to climb or grow upward, but its meaning changed to crawling in general and then to a slithery meandering motion such as that of a snake or worm.

Some of the inflected forms of papapat change the final -t to -p-, producing sentences such as

Papapapapa waepwum vareba.
The soldiers are riding their snakes.

Poswa also has many other words for snakes, but they denote particular types. The papap root disappeared entirely in Pabappa, and was replaced by one of the originally more specific words:

Pabappa: sapsotam. I dont have an etymology for this word, but it's long enough that it isn't likely one of the words I "just made up". Though, on the other hand, maybe it is, since I can't make any sense of it no matter where I try to imagine the original morpheme boundary was.

I don't really see 'splash' and 'make waves' as being the same, so:

Quebric: aussquenef (to splash). /aʊ̯sː.ˈkwε.nεv/
- aussquen (splash) masculine noun.
- squenef (to jump)
- aus (water) feminine noun.
- squen (jump) masculine noun
