Conlingual Telephone VII

Post by Click »

I guess it's time for another one.

The rules, mostly copy-pasted from the previous thread:
  • You have three (3) days to complete the translation – this is to keep it going. The text is short (under 100 words), so this shouldn't be a problem.
  • You must also provide an English translation, as not everyone is going to know these languages.
  • When you have translated, PM your new translation to the person next in line and to me, and your extra English translation, just to me.
  • Do not post translations in this thread, and try not to spoil anything.
  • Teams may or may not exist, depending on how people feel about having them and how many people are involved.
  • Check this thread to keep up with any news.
  • Post whatever conlang you plan on translating to, and which you prefer translating out of if you want, but remember that if multiple people offer to translate out of language X, I can't have you both do it. Unless team branching is involved or something. Also note that at least 1 (or more) may have to translate out of a language and just into English at the end of the chain.
  • I'll compile it on the KneeQuickie at the end, assuming it doesn't go down again.
THE CHAIN
Poplar: English → Kàipán DONE
Lyhoko Leaci: Kàipán → Zukish DONE
CJMiller: Zukish → Xylphika DROPPED
vampireshark: Zukish→ Telèmor DONE
clawgrip: Telèmor → Himmaswa DONE
qiihoskeh Himmaswa → Naisek or Jan12 DONE
cedh audmanh: Naisek or Jan12 → Buruya Nzaysa DONE
Sevly: Buruya Nzaysa → English DONE

FINISHED!

Others can still join, too. :)

Is this just a regular conlang relay, like you provide the next person with all the grammar and vocabulary necessary to translate out of your own language?

I'd love to translate out of somebody else's language and into English. It should be fun, as long as their grammar and vocab lists are sufficiently detailed. Bring it on!

Sure, I'll hop in. I'll go with Telèmor, seeing as how Ilian might not be conducive for this.

I'm kind of interested in trying this since I've never done one before. I worry about the timing, since I am sometimes busy, but I guess you can put me down to translate into Himmaswa.

Count me in too. I'd like to let the person after me decide which language s/he wants to translate out of - I'm offering Hkətl'ohnim, Tmaśareʔ, Doayâu, and Buruya Nzaysa.

Ah cool I'm in Iguchi, I think. I wonder if we walked past each other at all while I have been here.

Musashi-Sakai area? Probably not, then. But I work next to Mitaka station twice a week, including tomorrow (Monday). How long have you been here? And when are you going back? (I won't answer till the morning, as it's well past my bedtime)

Yeah though me and my girlfriend get off at Mitaka station when we want to take a bus and not walk, like today and probably tomorrow night since we are partying with friends then. I've been here for about two weeks and I'm heading back to the US this wednesday.

Well I killed my computer the second to last day I was in Japan, so I can't take part until the new one is here.

I'm gonna go with Buruya Nzaysa. This decision is based solely on the sample texts for each language. I have to say that I like the esthetics of Doayâu better, but auxiliaries are fun while erglangs are meh.

I'm available to participate after the 18th, probably with either one of my new languages (Jan12 -- it doesn't have a name yet) or Naisek.
