Of course you do.

All usable suggestions have been added to the gallery.

@ Qwyn,

I already had a glyph for "sit", and I used different glyphs for "left" and "right", but your suggestion was motivational, thank you.

Recap of charts (keep in mind, blue are already in use:

...

...

Now. The next chart consists of phonotactically disallowed syllables and a few have already been given meanings.

...

Meanings? Any ideas?

Why have they been given meanings if they are phonologically disallowed?

These are glyphs that are formed using the consonant and vowel symbols from the syllabary but do not occur because of phonotactics.

I already have a "left" and a "right" so I used "weird" and "proper". Good suggestions, btw.

Wait, what just happened? I swear that the date on that last post just changed. Is the date updated when you ninja edit, really? Didn't know you could bump like that.

Anyways, I'll be taking a look at the new chart later today.

I get the feeling that sometimes masako deletes posts and reposts the same thing, perhaps to encourage replies by making it appear as though there is a new post in the thread. I may be wrong, but I feel like I have experienced this several times.

Y'know...I kinda was thinking about that glyph for hawk...but I also had another glyph in mind that I can't seem to remember, so this one it is. Thanks.

Clever, clever. Now then:

2:01 - support; foundation
2:10 - fit; align
2:14 - scribble; jot down quickly
2:57 - leave out; exclude; ignore
2:61 - even; equal; balanced
2:64 - kaye 'surround' with holes in it > leak; let through
3:ntso - set up; build; construct
4:14 - car; wagon
4:28 - lift someone's arm > uplift; encourage

Hmm. I seem to like the second chart for whatever reason.

Oh, I misread. Anyhow, I don't understand the point of having glyphs for words that are not in the language. :?

Very nice suggestions. All of them (or some slight variation) were added. Thank you.

Good. I really like your choice for "intercourse", very nice.
Qwynegold wrote:Anyhow, I don't understand the point of having glyphs for words that are not in the language.
You really are misunderstanding. These are not "glyphs for words that are not in the language"...they're glyphs for syllables that are not phonotactically allowed. Think of Hangul for Korean...there are more than 11K syllables possible, and while they are pronounceable, they simply are not found used in the language. i.e. "꿶 흾 떇" and more. So, I decided to use them to mean other things...to form logographs instead of syllables.

Well, I wouldn't say it's too similar. That logo is quite angular whereas the Tloko glyphs are fairly rounded. Besides, as many possible glyphs as there are, they're bound to resemble various logos and emblems at some frequency.

Although I imagine that a modern sans serif web font for Tloko would be much more angular, in the style of East Asain Gothic typefaces, and so kaye might end up looking very much like the Länsförsäkringar logo. So the question is, what exactly is "County Insurance" surrounding?

Also, just wondering: is there any pattern to which part of the glyph you blue out when it's been definitioned? It's always the larger part, but sometimes you've coloured two segments, as in nte'o, while other times it's just one, as in kote.

Anyways, some more recommendations:
  • 1:19 - belly; underside

    2:23 - climb; move upwards
    2:32 - fire

3:syo - grow; enlarge; increase; expand
3:nso - help grow; care for; tend to
    3:nma - stadium; auditorium
    3:tluai - grill; barbecue
    3:tlua - meat

    4:31 - teach; instruct
4:56 - come, amount, or lead to

5:38 - lead; be at an advantage
    5:39 - trail; be at a disadvantage
    5:57 - strech; reach out
    5:53 - overextend; overdo

    6:04 - crawl
    6:12 - hide; take cover
    6:20 - inspect; examine
    6:28 - work; toil
    6:36 - pick; choose
    6:52 - miss; overlook
Oh, and also—just when I was about to post this—마사고? What witchcraft is this?
