That is quite an inventory. What is the syllable structure?

Are these <r l i e u a ř ľ ǐ ě ǔ ǎ> voiceless as well? And are these <ĩ ẽ ũ ã> nasal variants or alternate spellings? Are their qualities as in IPA?

I like the phonology's connotation. I really need to think about doing that myself.

I understand. But how do they contrast with <í é ú á>?Halian wrote:<ĩ ẽ ũ ã> are "tuned" (voiced)
So would <i e u a> be /i ɛ ɯ ɤ/?Halian wrote:<ǐ ě ǔ ǎ> /y œ u o/.
ITC, please use IPA or CXS.Halian wrote:A safir's mouth is structured identically to a human's.
Also, this should be in the C&C Quickies forum.

Why aren't there non-ejective labialized stops?

People prefer to use C&C Quickies for their scratchpads, as the 2-week pruning more or less forces them to work on the lang. But you are correct, C&C is the proper place.

Re: ʔAhirumali / Proto-Xylphika scratchpad
Your vowels confuse me.
You have a set of "tuned" or voiced vowels, which is typical. Vowels in IPA are fully voiced by default also. What confuses me, is that you also have a set of "rounded" and "unrounded" vowels, which wouldn't confuse me if you did not already have the first "tuned" category.
Are these latter two categories not voiced? That would be odd. Particularly because you put a syllabic /l/ in these categories. /l/ is, of course, voiced.
