Religions of Tau-Ceti 2

Post by Shemtov »

Around 1950 BCE a group of Advanced ETI kidnapped a community of people who lived on the northeastern shore of the Apsheron Peninsula and Pirallahi Island in modern-day Azerbaijan. They implanted them on a terraformed planet called Tau-Ceti 2.

Tshoshefhenlak (True-God's-way) is the monotheistic religion of the Kalushians who live on Tau-Ceti 2. It is believed by Terran scholars that it is a conservative interpretation of the theology suggested to them by the aliens who implanted the humans of Tauceti 2 on that planet.
The basic belief is that God (Tshosh) created the universe. He created one planet for humans, but there were others, filled with life but with no humans. He also created angelic beings called the Quqimanshek (Sing. Quqiman). Once, the Quqimanshek descended on the Human's planet. One tribe started to worship them. Tshosh got angry, and instructed the Quqimanshek to transport that tribe to one of the non-human planets, where they and their children will serve penance, as living on the new planet spiritually distances them from Tshosh. They believe that one day they will be allowed to return to the Human Planet, and that one of them will lead all humankind into a utopia on that planet. The announcement of this return will come from the mysterious Pillar by the Paleshank sea.
They believe that it is possible for a human to calculate his or her spiritual worth. Their priests have charts, and everyone is expected to sit down once a year with a priest to calculate whether their merits or sins are more. If their sins are more the preist will recommend fasts, prayers and sacrifices to the person.
Merits consist of Charity, promoting harmony, praising Tshosh and many other such acts.
Sins are divided into 2 types: Disruptive and Non-Disruptive. The former consist of Murder, theft, Sexual aberrations (Incest, audultry, homosexuality, beastiality, rape and pedophilia) and violence, and the latter are those that relate only between man and Tshosh, such as Idolatry.. There is a duty on a ruler to punish Disruptive sins.
If one dies with more sins then merits, he will go too hell. If more merits then sins, too heaven. If they are equal he will be reincarnated on the Human Planet. If he is a sinner but is working toward merit, he will be reincarnated on the "Distant Planet".
Heaven for those who earned it on Tauceti 2 is a lower level then those who did so on the Human Planet, but their souls will be lifted up after the Return.
They also believe that the air of the Human Planet wanders their planet, harming sinners and healing the meritorious. They also believe in many demons (Laklaksotshek)

The Pamian Oligarchys' religions on the other hand are polytheistic and war-driven. I will describe the faith of the most powerful of them, Pikpämi:

The Pikpämians believe that a group of spirits called the K'uqumancsok created the universe. They one planet for humans, but there were others, filled with life but with no humans. The K'uqumancsok divided into 2 factions: 1 that believed that the imperfections that naturally arose in the human world could be solved by humans coming together and making peace (these were called the Hasmidek'acsek) and those that thought that the only way was by thru war, thru the survival of the fittest (these were called the Podapukcsok).
The humans split into 2 factions based on these 2 spirit factions. The Hasmidek'acsek humans were almost massacred but their spirits told them that war was nessaccary for survival, so they fought back.
Once, one Podapukcsok tribe had those who split off and became Hasmidek'acsek. The Hasmidek'acsek rewarded that faction by transporting them to one of the non-human planets, where they were to live in peace. But the Podapukcsok protested that they needed balance. So as a treaty, the Podapukcsok faction of that tribe was transported to they same planet but at a distance and with a smaller population from the peaceful tribe, so to give the peace-lovers an advantage.
That Podapukcsok group became the Pamian peoples. The Hasmidek'acsek faction was the rest of the humans of Tauceti.
The Pikpämians believe that for every force in nature, there is a War K'uquman and a Peace K'uquman.
To worship the Podapukcsok is good, to worship the Hasmidek'acsek is pure evil.
Some of their major spirits are: Äqada, spirit of Lordship, Codu, spirit of War and T'apun, lord of sustenance.
They believe that one day the Podapukcsok will win their divine battle, and they will be called back to the human planet.
