ZBB Conlang Index (check the first post)

Post by Ser »

Mr. Z doesn't seem to be going to update the old Index, so here's a new one. I'll only list languages when there's information about them available though.

EDIT: last check for link rot was made on 2017-11-13.

I don't see how that'd be any better. I'll just link to this thread in my sig.

http://kneequickie.com/kq/Poswa
http://kneequickie.com/kq/Pabappa
http://kneequickie.com/kq/Khulls

The pages there are half culture, though, and not much info on the languages themselves. I have plenty of other conlangs, but theyre basically just the parent languages of those three and arent well developed.

http://kneequickie.com/kq/User:Soap has more info

The conlanger formerly known as “the conlanger formerly known as Pole, the”.

If we don't study the mistakes of the future we're doomed to repeat them for the first time.

You had already added those in the other thread, and so they are already there in the index.

Same reason I disabled commenting completely on my site. And there's still lots of comment spammers trying to dump their shit, mostly from former Eastern-bloc countries or South America. The number of site accesses blocked preemptively for IPs known to belong to notorious comment spammers and harvesters has risen from ~120/wk to ~160-180/wk for my site over the last 6 months, and there's several attempts each week to hack my login page or to inject code, usually in order to get root/admin access, or to register spam accounts – the joys of using a popular content management system. Also, there's some Chinese leecher who tries to download all provided MP3 files all the time, with every access from a different IP so that blocking them is extra hard (I found a way eventually, but they keep on trying based on the same pattern). It really makes me consider giving up having a personal site to publish my stuff to. Terrible.

And at ~250 uniques/month, my site isn't even big or anything, which adds to the frustration. It's like spammers try to conquer and plaster every little nook and cranny they can find, like a fucking cancer.

Man, what a chilling effect for making personal websites, now I feel even less like putting up one of my own.

It reminds me of what happens when trying to open a small store in San Salvador, or any small business run by yourself—what's the point if the gangs will come and extort you to pay some "rent" that's way over any profit you can make?

Nope.

From now on I have an excel file and two full notebooks to keep my stuff in and that should suit me fine. Besides, a lot of the stuff on the wiki was out of date anyway.

Do people still use this?

http://cals.conlang.org/

It was supposed to be a conlang version of WALS, the World Atlas of Language Structures. It also serves the purpose of a conlang directory.
Try the online version of the HaSC sound change applier: http://chrisdb.dyndns-at-home.com/HaSC

Sure people use it. I have data on a few conlangs there, though I haven't used it in a long time.

The link you've given for my Õtari language takes you to Benung : the Ayeri Resource. I don't know whether that's my fault originally or what, but the correct link for Õtari is here. Ta.
