I like snow but I'd rather live somewhere where beautiful plants live and where it stays green all year.

Snow is white, and cold. It looks like powder. When you touch it, it turns into water. When it's very cold, it falls from the sky instead of rain. Most of the time, snow falls from the sky during a time called "winter". In some countries, when it's winter snow doesn't fall every year, and when it snows, it may snow just a bit. In other countries, lots of snow fall, covering the ground and the trees and the houses, a few meters thick even. The whole wold is white. In some countries, or some parts of countries, there's always snow on the ground. But in most countried, when winter is gone, it gets warm and snow turns into water.

Indeed! I wasn't sure you know ice, so I didn't use the word in my description of snow.
