ZBB member photos, part 5. (Something for the weekend, sir?)
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (Something for the weekend, s
People will stare and go "Look, real live Canadians!" And then you'll disappoint them by not being.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (Something for the weekend, s
Indeed. It's my hope they don't know that in NWT they don't have front license plates, so I can trick them. So long as they never see the Michigan plate on the rear. Not that I care, I want them to see that too because my license plate number is DA BOXE because I drive around in a white box.Astraios wrote:People will stare and go "Look, real live Canadians!" I've had that happen several times, where I've seen a German license plate here... only to realize that, in North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and a number of other states, the state only issues a rear license plate. The front plate can be either blank or whatever thing you want there, so some people who've come back from abroad haven't removed their front German plate. No need to, I suppose.Astraios wrote:People will stare and go "Look, real live Canadians!" And then you'll disappoint them by not being.
And Bristel, as usual, looks cool. Reminds me that I should think about getting a haircut soon, with the APS meeting and all... maybe I'll do a hair donation. Or something of that nature.

Yes, we are cool like that. I used to have a Vermont plate there because in Vermont they do have front license plates (and the plate's tags were ambiguous enough to make it look like the plate was currently registered). I tricked lots of people with that, I even got perks because I lied and told them I was traveling here from Vermont (like once this woman gave me extra meat at Subway for free).vampireshark wrote:I've had that happen several times, where I've seen a German license plate here... only to realize that, in North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and a number of other states, the state only issues a rear license plate. Thank you!vampireshark wrote:And Bristel, as usual, looks cool. Reminds me that I should think about getting a haircut soon, with the APS meeting and all... maybe I'll do a hair donation. Or something of that nature.
My hair is too stringy to grow long (my half-brothers and sister get all the gorgeous hair), but I definitely think hair donation is an honorable thing.
I spent a lot of money unnecessarily on an "emergency haircut", because I was so sick of having unruly hair that I went downstairs to the salon to get it cut by a professional. But at least now I feel a bit more confident. (oh, and I guess I splurged on hairgel because I was told that wax and pommade is not a good product to use on my type of hair).
Well, terrible splurging aside, it turned out extremely well.

Are you smoking weed?
If I stop posting out of the blue it probably is because my computer and the board won't cooperate and let me log in.!

Oh look at me, I'm so cool.
Sorry but that's pretty much what that pipe reads to me.

To me it says "I'm an attentionwhore".
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (Something for the weekend, s
As much as it pains me to say this, in this thread of all places that is not really a criticism in which one can take the moral high ground.Astraios wrote:To me it says "I'm an attentionwhore".
(On the other hand, yes, smoking a pipe in public if you're under 70 is blatant attention-whoring. dhok: we get that you want to be a special, "quirky" individual. Don't belabour the point.)

As it so happens, not long after I took this picture I wandered up to the food court, and my pipe was commented on by an absolutely adorable girl. I got her number and we're now flirting over text.
So.
So.

oh god, i did that sort of stunt when i was like 18 (except I've never actually seen a real-life 'yard')... but you're a grown adult, why are you submitting yourself to that?
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (Something for the weekend, s
Ah, beer... The only good beer I've drunk was on a trip to Flanders. They had any-flavour beers. Surprising that I didn't find beer chocolate.

Well, it's the assistant manager's fault, really. He tried and failed, and I spent a profitable few days winding him up about it. So he put something on the pub's facebook page to the effect that if the post got a certain number of likes, the head chef (viz. me) would do a yard of ale at the end of Friday's service. Seventeen people like the post, and so I had to prove myself right.finlay wrote:oh god, i did that sort of stunt when i was like 18 (except I've never actually seen a real-life 'yard')... but you're a grown adult, why are you submitting yourself to that?

I've never seen a yard of ale in real life myself but it's certainly a good show, if not a bit waste of perfectly good beer. If you are fond of silly beer glasses, you should try this delicacy. It comes in a much more manageable size but is still fun to drink.

I'd probably throw up if I had to drink all of that in one go. I'd probably throw up if I had to drink a pint with one go. And thenceforth a dislike for beer, so it wouldn't be worth it because I want to continue liking beer.
But well done Dewrad.

Son of a bitch why does everyone else seem to have all these interesting tricks to get girls. Ffs I'm 17 and I don't even know how to flirt. Whenever I try and flirt with a girl it ends up just being polite conversation.Torque wrote:Yeah, bro, don't listen to the haters, I got like three makeout sessions and a girlfriend on account of The Power of Pipe back the the day.
But seriously a pipe? That doesn't actually look half bad. Congratz on the creativity.
And here's another of me:
