Yeah, I fully agree. If, by unique, you mean something like a bespoke jacket, or a pair of cufflinks inherited from your great aunt or something. However, things like your boater (or dhok's pipe) just scream "look at
ME! Aren't I special?" There is indeed a difference between this and dressing wholly outlandishly: those who do are special snowflakes and while they might look daft, at least they're doing it right. What you do is simply trying to be a special snowflake. Which makes you a tool.
