ZBB member photos, part 5. (Something for the weekend, sir?)

Discussions worth keeping around later.

Or you just like going with the flow and don't need to be a special snowflake.
But if you only have one or two unique items in an otherwise normal ensemble, I don't think that qualifies for special snowflake status. I think in that case you need to dress from head to toe in something deemed outrageous by current fashion trends.
Yeah, I fully agree. If, by unique, you mean something like a bespoke jacket, or a pair of cufflinks inherited from your great aunt or something. Something understated, yet signature to you.

However, things like your boater (or dhok's pipe) just scream "look at
ME! Aren't I special?" There is indeed a difference between this and dressing wholly outlandishly: those who do are special snowflakes and while they might look daft, at least they're doing it right. What you do is simply trying to be a special snowflake. Which makes you a tool.

Or he just likes the hat and wants to wear it because fuck your narrow limitations of apparel?

EDIT: On second glance this seems highly unlikely but I'll let the post stand so people have something to criticize me for, which I gather is something of a favorite sport around these parts.

My mind is duly blown.

(He still looks like a tool in it though. Or a novelty pepper grinder.)

Regardless of fashion taste, the hat is too small. Or his head is too thick. Either way, it doesn't fit.

I like vintage hats of all sorts. I'm not the only one wearing a boater my age. I'm a member of a forum of hat enthusiasts and we all wear vintage hats outside.

And the hat is supposed to ride high on the bean, so even if it doesn't fit perfectly, at least it fits somewhat.

Unless you succeed! I remember Maunus's whole ... thing. Unless I'm recalling it wrong, it seemed to work pretty well on him! I also have a friend who regularly pulls off dressing like it's 1920 or so. But since he's a) practically 7 feet tall and b) an actual magician, he has more than enough excuse.

You've got to consider what works for you specifically, not just what is said to work in general. (consider how black guys can pull off a white suit, but a white guy in one either looks terminally ill or cultist) Sure, you have friends in boater hats. Sure, it's meant to ride high on the head. But in particular, this one makes you look like a ventriloquist's puppet.

People wore those recently where I live. But that was for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Stockholm olympics.

In conclusion, we have learnt two things:

a) Viktor's hat does not fit him and makes him look like some sort of novelty appliance
b) He is nonetheless far less of a misshapen abomination than I had expected

I'm going to a wedding vow renewal this afternoon and I have to dress more formal than drunken tramp but less than formal wedding regalia and I don't know what to wear. It also sucks balls that I'm going on my own because my partner went back to see his dad who's just badly injured himself. I hate wearing suits but I think I actually look pretty damn hot in this one.

Behold!

Is that your "Look how adorable it is when I do this!" smile, or your "I just took my antidepressant pills with a triple shot, hell yeah" smile? I can't quite tell.

Oh c'mon Radius it's not like he doesn't do that same smirk in about every photo he ever takes of himself.

The latter, coincidentally, pretty much covers my plans for this evening.

It certainly less absurd with the vest and bowtie than it is with a plain white t-shirt. Clearly better. You appear to be only one pocketwatch and one cigar short of having mastered the look.

I don't care, but I don't get it. What looks porno about it haha?

Also thanks everyone! If only I owned a pocketwatch. My watch there is not period, but I had no other adequate timepieces.

Damn, getting old, had to look up Brazzers...

Also, "rapeface" is not a word to be used lightly (or anything involving rape, for that matter).
