Freaky. The previous "banana apocalypse" was something I'd never heard of before.

How to: make a very small pancake, with tools some of you may have at home.

Next time I'm shooting up my heroin, I'll show everyone how to make a tiny pancake.

Then I will inject it into their arms.

Long lay the World in sin and error pining... and then came the Manga Bible.

Is it weird that I was less interested in the pancake than the card in all of its Slavic glory?

"Steve, Don't Eat It" is classic. Especially the natto, pruno and infected corn adventures.

(The car videos are great, too, especially the crazy Augusta one. Meanwhile, the full Bubb Rubb experience can be had here. I particularly recommend the trailer for his Epic Film.)

They really should have done "G Thang" and "Playa" editions.

In other news... a throwdown between, of all people, Geraldo Rivera and Bill O'Reilly.

A light appetizer: Martin Strel swims the Amazon.

The main course: David Ray Griffin publishes a thought-provoking analysis of 9/11 in the invaluable Tikkun magazine. (If you don't read it, you should.) See also Michael Lerner's critique. (And while we're at it, Lerner advocates a spiritual approach to getting out of Iraq.)

For dessert, religion in America:

The Emerging Church movement reshapes Christian evangelicalism. (Via Orcinus.)

A Newsweek feature on Ingrid Mattson, convert and current President of the Islamic Society of North America, who has a number of interesting articles online here and is publishing a forthcoming book about the Qur'an.

I concur.

Not as in-depth, but pretty neat: making a chica tank-top on a budget.

I don't follow the tech blogosphere very much, but that looks to have been a really ugly incident. Still, some of what's coming out of it looks a little loopy, esp the anti-anonymity thing (people online can and do have perfectly legit reasons to prefer anonymity). Maybe it's just that the political blogosphere has contaminated the whole genre of the "plea for civility" for me.

ils:

I don't really watch the happenings around Kathy Sierra myself -- I've read a few of her posts, and I understand she's well-known in user interface design, and that's it.

And it's perfectly possible to spew hate without being anonymous... as Ann Coulter would readily attest. :| (Though not to the point of making death threats.)

Well, there's probably no easy solution to this.

I'm a little late linking to this, but the War Nerd reviewing 300 in his inimitable style is not to be missed. (Full disclosure: I myself haven't watched the film yet, in part because some of the things the Nerd describes defeated my attempts even to make it through the two-minute teasers on the website.)

Servator_Mundi: Try this.

(It's weird: tweak the URL a bit and you don't have to register.)
