For "preachy" quotes about members you don't like, board policy, etc etc.

Come off it. Zomp's quote was very funny, as well as dead accurate. :)
Let us not look too closely at ourselves to see whether or not we have, in our untime, been successful. Turn your face from yourself; it is too late for that. I turn my face from you and I; let us look instead at how the ocean purrs.
Have you actually read the rest of this thread? I don't think anyone else is applying the same standards that you're championing here.

That said, Nuntarin's on the mark: I thought it was a funny quote that deserved to be preserved well after the Ephemeral thread that it appeared in is long gone and those it was originally directed at have faded into half-remembered bogeymen to be invoked when new troublemakers arise.

In other words: Try not to be so downtimer.

It's time for all the truly noble people like schwatever to leave, that their pure intentions and unsullied love for all mankind be not tinged by the stink of our evil.

I suppose I'll put my sig in here, as I'll probably change it soon:

<tatapyranga> not for me, I have class in the morning

Tata was under a different name at the time, but board won't let me use some of the characters in it.

Oh, I understand your line of thought now: If English has it, then so must every other language. Can't fault that logic.
Talk about putting words in my mouth.
Sorry, I tend to use Gricean maxims when I converse in English as opposed to whatever infernal logic informs your responses.
No, my cock is bigger.

<Eddy> It seems odd that a grammar on a language would be racist against its speakers. I mean, you wouldn't crack open a French textbook and read "Important elements of French culture include stinky cheese, those stupid berets, annoying musette music, and surrendering to the Germans."

:D I'd rather provide the full context in my defense:

Abr 27 22:10:30 <babajaga> It's time for going out

Abr 27 22:10:40 <[studying]> not for me, I have class in the morning

I was there too, filming it. see spackandwhimtantricgaysex.com for more info, and the video itself.
*spackandwarm, sir.

EDIT: And don't lie! You were a willing participant. You still haven't explained your reasons for breaking it off with us and leaving the paradise that is our tea farm.
Curse my inability to distinguish names that begin with the same letter! Although now I know why Whim seemed so angry at our regular ale-drinking and afghan-knitting night last week - I'd be angry to if I was mistakenly credited to a tantric gay sex porn site!

One thing I find odd about the culture of this board is the liberalness of sigquoting. In other Internet forums that I know, it is considered a major faux pas and a transgression of etiquette to quote someone in your sig without their permission (unless it's from a published book or something, of course).

Obviously not the case here, but I don't think I'll ever really get used to that. I definitely won't get used to sigs that taunt or criticise fellow board members in any way whatsoever (if I were in Zomp's position I would strictly prohibit them).
