The ironic thing (though maybe just in an Alanis sense) is that they are from nowhere near Montréal.

It's rare when a Finn says something funny, but he did say something funny.

From page three of the "Alternative Mounts" thread (where, incidentally, my mention of the war elephants used in Greater India and by Hannibal spawned off a bunch of posts composed of complete awesome, but these are not them) comes this little exchange:
HandsomeRob wrote:How about a War Snail? A snail with a shell the size of a house, hollowed out to hold a few dozen soldiers, complete with cannon emplacements and armor plating. Yeah, it'd be slow. Slow and Awesome.

Wycoval wrote:How about a War Scorpion? With a laser on it's tail? Arthropodically Awesome.

A few from the flags thread:

I think you should have a flag with an animated boingy on it. That would be really original.

They're immortal. They live practically forever and you can't harm them in anyway. This is the first thing you must understand.

Why do they reproduce if they're immortal?
Well, Azucar, when a mommy boingy and a daddy boingy love each other very much, they share a very special type of bouncing...

Best Monty Python sketch not made by them:
Salmoneus wrote: Really, the government approach to data security is like a drug-addicted vagrant telling you why you shouldn't give drug addicts money:

"Can I have some money?"
"Oh, sure..."
"Thanks. You know, you shouldn't give out money to drug addicts. They'll just go buy drugs."
"Oh! Good point. So can I have that money back?"
"No."
"Oh, ok. Well, thanks for the advice."
"No problem. Can I have some money?"
"What? No!"
"Awh, but you're just going to give it to undeserving drug addicts... why not give it to me instead?"
"Because... what...? What are you... No, sorry, just go away."
*snatches at wallet*
"Money! Mine! Give me money!"
"What? No, go away!"
"If you don't give me your money, somebody might steal it!"
"Nobody's going to steal it. Look, it's secure!"
"It's not secure! If you keep it in your wallet, any madman could steal it at any moment. Look!"
[*tries to steal wallet*]
EDIT:add explanation part to quote

I was amused by Schwatever's elaboration upon Pthag's dismissal of a question about why the long mark used in IPA is a, "triangle colon," instead of a, "dot colon."
