Here is a rather blurry picture of me:

This was taken back in winter, and the pool was ice cold. That's why I'm standing in it, actually - icebaths are great for injury treatment and prevention (and I had shinsplints at the time). It was also raining, thus the jacket and umbrella. Oh, the things I do for my sport...

Torco: Shinsplints is an inflammation of the tissue that connects the shin muscle to the bone (which does indeed make it painful to stomp). It's caused by repetitive stress, also known as running.

Yeah, the picture's blurry... The person who took the photo wasn't familiar with the camera they used.
