The photos look as if the proportions of your face have changed. A visual illusion, I guess.Guitarplayer wrote:I've just had a haircut, too. Zounds! you're right! My nose looks longer, my eyes larger, and my face more narrow.

In the second picture, maybe your jaw is slightly open (even if your lips are closed still), pulling your cheeks slightly tighter and maybe pulling the folds (what is the technical term for the sides of noses that meld into cheeks?) of your nose down and in? That's the only explanation I can think of.
Oh and Astraios, I think part of it is that you're skinny, yes, but you also seem to be wearing a really baggy shirt? Not that there's anything wrong with that, just that it will make you look even skinnier.

Hm, true - though I never seem to be able to find T-shirts in a size that would actually fit my body. xDschwhatever wrote:Oh and Astraios, I think part of it is that you're skinny, yes, but you also seem to be wearing a really baggy shirt? Try children's stores. Nah, really, it sounds like I'm trolling, but I had a really really skinny friend and she got away with wearing children's clothes... of course, I don't know if a shirt that shows the navel is your style xDAstraios wrote:Hm, true - though I never seem to be able to find T-shirts in a size that would actually fit my body. xDschwhatever wrote:Oh and Astraios, I think part of it is that you're skinny, yes, but you also seem to be wearing a really baggy shirt? Re: ZBB member photos, part 5.
The jeans I'm wearing right now are from the children's department at C&A. They're actually oversized for children (size 182), but I'm too skinny to wear adult-sized trousers (28/34 is pretty uncommon a size, 30/* is where it usually starts). So actually 182 and 188 are children's sizes continued to adult body height either for very tall children or for skinny people like me, however you'd still typically find them in children's departments. Finding shirts in S for men is difficult as well sometimes. And then there's the whole problem of buying shoes as a man with size 42 (8½ in US sizes I think) and very narrow feet.

Re: ZBB member photos, part 5.
My boyfriend in 5'3" and he gets some of his clothes children-sized. On the other hand, he is extremely stocky and broad, so in some respects he has the opposite problem to you guys.
So take this body at sunset to the great stream whose pulses start in the blue hills, and let these ashes drift from the Long Bridge where only a late gull breaks that deep and populous grave.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5.
I have more of that kind of problem. Since I'm short (5'6"), stocky anyway and a bit overweight (which I don't like, but still haven't found the willpower to correct, ugh...), it can be difficult to find trousers that have a wide enough waist and a short enough leg. I think the optimum measurements are 29" leg and 33" waist. Of course if I lost weight I could alleviate the problem, but I'm never going to be skinny-thin, I don't think.

Astraois you too!
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5.
This is basically my problem, though I'm not that short. But I'm 5'7" with a fairly broad chest and shoulders. I usually wear small sizes, but the fit isn't always perfect.Twpsyn Pentref wrote:My boyfriend in 5'3" and he gets some of his clothes children-sized. Maybe it's just the one I've been to in Chester, but I didn't like any of theirs. I'll try the ones in Manchester.finlay wrote:topman

Of me and my boyfriend? He would be very cross if he found out I'd posted a picture of him online.Viktor77 wrote:Astraois you too!

Same here. Small shirts tear at the shoulders, medium shirts have sleeves that cover my hands.Goatface wrote:This is basically my problem, though I'm not that short. Re: ZBB member photos, part 5.
I have the opposite problem from most of you: I'm 5'11" and built like an ogre, with very broad shoulders and chest (and a massive head, which is 24" in circumference). I often end up buying men's clothes; I don't think I've had a pair of women's athletic shoes since I was twelve or so. Women's shirts are almost invariably too short for me when otherwise the right size, so I have to size up.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5.
A more flattering picture, from a more flattering angle.

I'm not sure if we've ever actually seen you face-on, you know.

The hair looks good, though I'd be scared to death being a hairdresser and having to cut the hair set above that face! Do you ever smile?Goatface wrote:I got a new hair cut!

Re: ZBB member photos, part 5.
Being medium in all aspects seems weird now, especially seeing the most recent posts. My pants are 30-32/32-33 (depending on brands and such) and I wear M t-shirts. It seems I'm rather bland
Also, people think I look skinny now. 170 lbs/6' or 77,5kg/183 cm for the records.
(Oh, and I found out I lost most of my strength. Hopefully it will come back during the following 4 months of muscle workout I planned.)

My father had this problem, and IIRC there are places that specify the width of the shoes in the size, in addition to the length, but you may have to special-order them.Guitarplayer wrote:And then there's the whole problem of buying shoes as a man with size 42 (8½ in US sizes I think) and very narrow feet.
I sometimes buy shirts from the men's department, just because they are guaranteed not to have stupid glitter shit and funky stylings and strange size issues, like where it's tight around the waist but floofy up around the arms and shoulders. Sometimes the men's shirts are tighter around the hips, or longer than I'd prefer, but at least they are still recognizable as shirts!
