Sometimes I think that my liver naturally produces THC so that I look like this...Also, less marijuana might help.

Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
I wasn't really planning to shave it (occasionally I do so that it grows back thicker, I'm not that old yet so my beard isn't at its full-grown state), though I am thinking of styling it with a razor occasionally so that I have a nicely cut beard. I used to trim it shorter from time to time, but I prefer to have a thick black fur instead of just a hardly noticeable brown shade.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
not everyone can grow an epic beard... if you want to up your chances, shave everyday, even if you don't have to.

It's a(n urban?) myth that hair grows faster if you shave/cut it more often.Torco wrote:not everyone can grow an epic beard... if you want to up your chances, shave everyday, even if you don't have to.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
good to know, thanks!
it makes sense how the myth might have arisen, though... one starts to shave when one's body hair is growing ever more thick, so yeah.
However, I do have curious anecdotal evidence that needs explaining now that the myth has been dispelled: I was balding and had very little hair thickness in the head, and then I shaved my head plenty of times, and, after that, my hair is now lush and thick, and grows on areas of the head that it didn't grow before.

Placebo?
The shaving thing is somewhat psychological, and arises because when you cut it, the tiny piece of hair that's left is usually slightly thicker than the piece you chopped off, making it grow back more coarsely.

maybe but... I mean, it was a really noticeable effect... perhaps it's that I had really long hair before?finlay wrote:Placebo?

Yes a serious condition called puberty.http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hair-removal/an00638 wrote:Consult your doctor if you notice a sudden increase in facial or body hair. This could be a medication side effect or a sign of an underlying medical condition.

What medication has this side effect? Now I'm getting interested
I just love facial hair. I also don't mind shaving my back and neck from time to time (yes, I have to do that...), and I'm completely fine with the hair on my chest and limbs as-is; I can shave it if a future partner wants me to anyway. It's just the hair in my armpit that is really annoying and makes me sweat excessively. I won't even begin about the other body hair that I have...

Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
I hate facial hair. It gets so itchy when it grows in and I'm not patient enough to let it grow out until it's not anymore, plus I would look goofy with a beard.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
I don't think I've ever shaved two days in a row ... I hate shaving, and I have quite a lot of facial hair. Also, I have a hair on my arm which is now 8cm long. I named it Clare after a girl I work with who was getting freaked out by it. Now when I talk to her, I talk to Clare the hair as well and say "we" instead of I. She is suitably freaked out.Torco wrote:not everyone can grow an epic beard... if you want to up your chances, shave everyday, even if you don't have to.

Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
As a rule of thumb, people who have a chin that doesn't stick out as far as their lips (e.g. concave) don't carry beards well. More square-shaped chins carry beards perfectly fine; however, chins that stick out too much or are too pointy also look ridiculous with a beard. I consider my own chin just about right to have a beard, but not at all perfect; I would have preferred it to be more square-shaped. alas.Theta wrote:I hate facial hair. Also, consider what colour your beard-hair will be. If you're blond, you will need quite a thick beard-growth in order to make your beard actually visible, while my dark-colored beard can be seen from miles away without being too thick (I'd love it to be thicker...)
And honestly, the itching isn't that bad. I heard that rubbing some oil in your beard helps if it itches, but I have never needed to do that.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
This might not always be predictable... I've found quite a lot of facial hairs that are a sort of dark blond colour, but no one in my family has any blond hair at all (my youngest sister and my uncle both did when they were little, but they grew out of it).sirdanilot wrote:Also, consider what colour your beard-hair will be. Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
I know a guy who has long, blond hair but an enormous, Viking-like reddish beard. It's pretty damn awesome !
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
I get a ginger beard. It's colloquially known as Scottish Ginger Beard Syndrome, because it's evidently quite common for Scottish guys of various hair colours to grow ginger beards for no apparent reason.
Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
I have three hair colors: brown (most common), blond and red (the red ones are slightly thicker, and my paternal grandma is a ginger, btw), so I have chestnut hair with blond/red highlights.

Re: ZBB member photos, part 5. (camel toes.)
I have, in order:
Dark eyes but light skin.
Almost blond hair.
Rather dark eyebrows, eye-lashes
Ash-blond beard, moustache.
Hair on on my arms that turned from blond to almost black when i entered puberty and until a few months ago, when it suddenly turned blond again.
Black hair on my legs.
... and Auburn-brown pubic hair for no fucking reason at all.
Yay for mixed ancestry!
edit: I think I have touch of Scottish Ginger Beard Syndrome in my beard, though it is like one or two hair.
