The guy in the front looks good, but the background... eh, it looks black'n'white.
If I stop posting out of the blue it probably is because my computer and the board won't cooperate and let me log in.!

No, it all looks bad. There's too much obvious light shining on his shirt, the leaves, the sky through the leaves... Just do it at nighttime.

Less light, less colour!

I know, but I'm wondering if that kind of fake light doesn't have a nice, cinematic and surrealistic feel to it by bringing the character out of the background a bit. Shooting at dusk would be good, otherwise, but you don't have a long timespan to do that, and for an entire movie that plays out during night that would take so many days. Ugh. Anyway, this is just a test shooting for the real film to try out the possibilities. I should try using a greenscreen and compositing the character on a background too.

While filming at night might be possible, you'd need a really good camera to get it to work. I don't advise adding the color filters unless you can remove the lighting because it looks horrible (trust me; I know from experience in filming and editing). And, yeah, you can see the character better, but I'd say that you should figure out first what you want from the scene: do you want realism or something that might be a bit more fantastical? If you're going for the latter, it might not be out of place to do so. But I don't advise it if at all possible.

I'm still not sure if I'd use Trebuchet on money. On the other hand, it kind of gives a fresh and clean impression. The overall design looks nice as usual, anyway.

Started vaguely conworlding. Contowning? I wanted to make a town map that looked like it was printed from a woodcut.

It's too confusing. It seems to be a story about one person, but then it seems to be about different people, but then it seems to be about the first person, but then about the fifth person, but then the first person again, and I couldn't read it properly. It's very pretty though.

I've been trying to compose con-music for a conworld or something. Here are some examples:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19419654/friess.mp3
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19419654/regicide.mp3
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19419654/untitled12.mp3
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19419654/timecube.mp3

I might want to get more into the music theory of it, I'm really just winging the melodies and harmonies and rhythm and... everything.

This is a valid, and solid, criticism. I can only apologise for pandering to the current obscurantist fashion. In my defence, I have included a set of notes at the end of the poem which may (or may not) help - at this link.

I've been creative.

That is a link to a 17-or-something second piano piece I've been playing with for the last couple of days. I could use it as a sort of a theme for a sonata or some ragtime.

This took a while to "get right", and I'm still not completely happy with it, but it's a first go.

Mostly because I'm currently in the US, I am bored. As a result of said boredom, I like working on and re-working stuff. So there'll probably be a greater number of things produced this summer.

For starters, in continuing with my redesign and reworking of the Telèmor passport (for the third time), here are more of the stamp pages:

This new project requires coats of arms or emblems designed for all 18 regions, of which I've finished 14.

That looks nothing like real nighttime. It does, however, look exactly like a professional day-for-night shot you'd see in an irl movie. So that's something I guess?

The only cameras that give you control over exposure and aperture are SLRs usually. You'll have to expose a couple of seconds with a large aperture, however, if you want to see anything in a nightshot. A bright full moon will of course help if you want to see more than just a lot of black.

Also, human eyes have a higher dynamic contrast range than a camera typically has, which is why HDR photography and tonemapping were invented. Which is also annoying if the light is subtle but just perfect, you take a photo, and it looks way more dull than it did in reality because the subtle color and contrast differences you intended to capture are all but blown out.
