The pesky fact that I literally can't make the software do what I need it to do would seem to play a role here. One can hardly help the limitations of software and it makes no sense to criticize me for throwing up my hands in defeat when faced by such insurmountable limitations. Complain all you like about my cultural identity or artistic failings or whatever else, but don't blame me for problems inherent to software.

Why don't you just press the "Fix Everything Immediately" button sitting on your desk?

Hitting that button would require a full extension of my arm, and my elbow could hyperextend in the process. Then I'd have to worry about getting to the hospital, having my dislocated elbow immobilized with a sling, and put on all kinds of painkillers. That is if my mom would even drive me there, which is unlikely if she knows I injured myself trying to save my porn stash. Most doctors here in the Bible Belt probably wouldn't even treat such an injury, thinking it best I learn a lesson through some "tough love".
And who's to say the magic button would even fix everything. I've heard of magic buttons that only fixed ninety percent of their owner's problems. Which would still leave me sitting here having to take on the remaining ten percent of this harrowing confrontation with destiny myself. So it seems pointless to me to waste my time on an approach that's only going to leave me right back where I started.

When I first came here, I thought I was out of my depth, seeing people that seemed to know more about grammar than perhaps was good for them. And At times this forum seemed like the last refuge for pedants, nitpickers, and anal-retentives (which, at times, it actually is...).

But now, having spent a bit of time here, I've realised that beneath this thin veneer of pedantry and lingual geekiness there's a sophisticated sort of irony amongst you all, which I quite like.
