(Cev = Xephyr)
<Cev> I have a PM to Whimemsz from August that's still in the Outbox
<Cev> oh Whimemsz, why must you be so fleeting?
<Cev> He'll be back.
<Cev> He always comes back.
<Cev> THOUGH WIDE HE MAY ROAM, ALWAYS THE HERO COMES HOME....
-Cev pictures Whimemsz at the head of a sturdy old salty longboat crashing through a tempest
-Cev then pictures the viking longboat landing in Newfoundland and Whimemsz living out the rest of his days among classical Ojibwe speakers...

<Cev> His body would be covered in ritual tattoos in Canadian syllabics
<Cev> Invoking the wendigo spirits to crush his enemies

<@dewrad> it's pretty impressive. tiny todgers all over the place and appropriately hilarious music
<Cev> What is a todger?
<Cev> is that some mythical beast that lives on the British Isles?

His name's "Moorcock," and you're worried about something that may sound similar to boner?

Priorities!

In general there's surely nothing wrong with some conversation about the quotes that get posted in here, but the "octopodes" issue a) has gone on long past its sell-by date, b) was cluttering up everything, and c) was originally my own fault anyway. Thus I have split it out, with all related posts.

No, every single thread on this forum has the Pointless and Annoyingly Pedantic Debate Thread as an assumed subtitle.
It's not so much a Pedantic Debate Thread as a Pedantic Debate Fabric.

Salmoneus wrote:Astraios: no, sexual banter isn't the same as bullying. Well, not necessarily, although sexual banter can be used as a form of bullying. But in any case, it does make many people feel uncomfortable. This is meant to be a welcoming board for everybody, and 'family friendly'. Is there even an age limit on members anymore? Even when there was, it was only 14, and people frequently lied in order to pass that requirement. I'm not saying this in order to argue that there should never be any sexual content here, but to give context as to why sexual content is a potential issue and something that should be borne in mind: this board includes very young people, it includes very old and delicate people, and it includes Americans and other people with strange psychological issues.
