Pretty much. I associate it with fratboys (which are also pretty much exclusive to america) and have hardly any idea what the rules are.

I think you stereotype it as something fratboys do.

Yeah, I think it's predominantly an American thing. For one thing, it would be vodka pong if it were invented here. I remember being taught it at a party and thinking it was an overly complex way of waiting for your beer to go flat.

When I was in New York, I drank from one of those red cups. I thought this was cool, everyone else thought I was retarded. It was a real JUST LIKE THEY DO ON TV!!! moment. Like everything in America, it was the wrong size. Cups come in 250ml or 330ml sizes, not whatever size that was. For 10 days, I actually missed the metric system.

This bag says they're 16oz (473ml). Yours are tiny. :?

(it means floz of course, oz is amazingly useless as a unit)

From what I've seen, drink sizes are considerably smaller in Europe... as are food sizes in general. A "large" drink at a fast food restaurant here in France (and also in Germany) is 500 ml compared to a small being at least 21 oz./620 ml in the US.

And there are "rules" for drinking games (at least those I've played), but they tend to be abandoned rather quickly as the players become increasingly drunk.

On an aside, though, it seems the Brits I deal with have a rather high alcohol tolerance and consumption rate. I went out to a bar with some of the other assistants here in Clermont-Ferrand... I believe I was one of only a few Americans, if not the only one. Most of the other English-speakers there were Brits and they all were pounding pints of beer at a rather fast pace.

Last time I went out for a drink was just after Christmas (I've basically had stomach flu since New Year's) and I think I had seven pints of cider... that was quite the exception though.

The night that my boyfriend and I got together, we drank two bottles of wine on the train (sixteen minute journey) on the way into town after drinking cocktails all afternoon and stopping on the way to the station for a pint or two. We then met my then-current-but-soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend in a bar and had more drinks.

I was at work by six the next morning.

And we live happily every after.

I'm actually a bit of a lightweight for my height and build.

You.... don't say? All I have are stereotypes, since we don't get either fratboys or beer pong here generally...

Ugh yes. It's growing here too; when I wore a younger man's clothes, a small drink was about the size of a toddler's sippy cup; now it's larger than a standard soda can (12floz/355mL) -- your numbers are certainly believable. I occasionally forget this and order (god forbid) a medium, which is far too much to drink in one sitting.

It's still full of ice, though. Soda syrup isn't even that expensive.

Yes, I know. A "large" in Canada is a "medium" in the United States, though in some parts it is a "small".

And I agree with Gulliver and Dewrad and Viktor. Unfortunately, the older you get, the sillier long hair looks, no matter what the sex.

I usually vote longer hair up, but for Finlay I have to say shorter suits him better, in my opinion. You can still add several centimeters to what you've got in the short-haired one above, though.

I've dyed my hair. More than one colour at the same time for the first time ever. Please ignore the scariness of my staring eyes and the silly pose with the arms. I was trying get it a bit better-looking during the three-second countdown of the camera, but was too slow. I did take a few more pictures, but this was the one where the hair turned out the best, so I chose it anyway.

This is what it looked like when it was still wet:
