The latter makes for more of a mastery goal while the former makes for more of a performance goal and performance goals hardly last. To do this I'm beginning a regimen of working out 50 minutes every morning from 7:30-8:30 before work. I've also managed to avoid pop. The hardest part will be food, not so much avoiding bad food but eating good food. I don't know what to eat.
I don't feel particularly unhealthy, FWIW, just a bit fat. I dunno about working out, I might try and go swimming again once I go home and have more free time though. If I actually stick at it I might lose some again. Recently I've been having too much chocolate and Irn Bru, which I'm aware of, but my life is a bit of a mess at the moment because I'm having to think about leaving in a week's time, so I'm putting it on hold a bit.
As I said, I generally get enough fruit and veg (indeed, if I was only ever allowed to eat fruit ever again I think I'd be able to live with that). I'm thinking a better idea might be to try and cut out meat for a while.
