I felt like listening to this tiny little guilty pleasure of mine, when I came across a word in a dataset with the gloss 'travel/voyage' (its in english and french).

Dani Uniikki (+ Spekti & Elastinen) - Pojat on Poikii
Dani Uniikki - Suurempaa
Dani seems to have [ʀ] for his /r/ which I find really nice-sounding.

Asonance - Alasdair syn Collův
I don't know why the Slavic peoples have such a fascination with the Celts, but the upshot is that there's a band singing Alasdair Mhic Cholla Ghasda. In Czech.
This is awesome.
P.S. They also have a Czech version of Canan nan Gàidheal, which is highly ironic.

Odd, but I like

Rammstein - Moskau
MOSKAU! Раз два три!
MOSKAU! Посмотри!
Пионеры там идут,
песни Ленину поют!
God I love this song.

I'd rather settle for Seemann, although Moskau is also a nice song.

Re: What are you listening to? -- Non-English Edition
I honestly think most manufactured Japanese pop music is pretty terrible, with very weak melodies that are instantly forgettable. Nevertheless, I like this one song, Rising Sun, by Exile, despite finding basically everything else Exile has released to be the pinnacle of bland, in the sense that it is neither anything I specifically want to hear again nor anything offensive enough to specifically try to avoid. The main singers at least have good singing voices. Maybe you will like this, or maybe you will find it as dumb as everything else. But I will throw it out here anyway.

I have discovered a version in Ulster Irish. It is still pretty good, although quite frankly Karen Matheson still produces the better vocals.Shrdlu wrote:Cànan nan Gàidheal

Lately I've been getting really into the Sardinian tradition of cantu a tenore. Here's an example.
I did have a bizarrely similar (to the original poster's) accident about four years ago, in which I slipped over a cookie and somehow twisted my ankle so far that it broke

Гайдамаки — Про Андрія
Well, at least in this country the local folk music is widely considered to be something to scorn and ridicule, an epitome of backwardness... It's an upstart-land. So I guess it's people's effort to find something vaguely similar to listen to without this associated stigma.Hallow XIII wrote:Asonance - Alasdair syn Collův
