EDIT: Ah dammit, even after correcting the image, there is still an /a/ diacritic missing on 'style' in the top row – I decided that it would make more sense if the inherent vowel is /ə~ʌ/ rathern than /a/ for English. And a space between "of" and "my" is missing because I always forget that the i-diphthong diacritic precedes its consonant.

I made this thing years ago, but sadly few people have seen it because youtube thinks it's too copyrighty.

I used a text-to-speech thing for various non-English languages, and used creative spellings to replicate English pronunciation. Then I used it to replace the dialogue from a scene from Predator.

Here is the result

In Thread Necromancy time, 2.whatever, I did another commission where guy sent me pics of things he wanted on banknotes and I added my own effects and the like. Here's a sample:

Against appropriate compensation, such could be arranged.

At the risk of revealing my loserdom to the world, I made an amigurumi of Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I wanted to give him a hug, and now I CAN.

Image

This is my first amigurumi, and I'm pretty happy with how he turned out!

I'm glad people like it!

I also made a dice pouch for my professor/DM. I actually did most of the crocheting work a while ago, but sewing the lining and attaching it is something I've been procrastinating on fivever (because thread is evil), and I finally got that done today and gave it to him (and he seemed pretty delighted).

It's supposed to resemble dragon scales.

Also nui means sewing, so it's just replacing sew with knit.

Impressive work, by the way. Looks good.

What (con)country is the residence permit issued by? Why is it English-only? The ones of countries I know are mostly either national-language-only or national language(s) plus English.

It's one of my concountries, the Republic of the Pearl Islands. As their "official" language is English, said permit is in English. (I was lazy and didn't want to come up with a separate language for said country, so I used the shortcut of using English as theirs. Plus, it's further justification for the English on the Ilian and Telemor passports and visas.)

And most of the residence permits I've seen are also national-language-only: my German permit is completely in German, for example. So that's partly why.

Nah, that's a stuffed Mushu plush that I use as the photograph subject for the documents I post.

Ah, understood. I just was wondering because the names of the months seem to be non-English, so I thought that the national language was not English.

A lot of the places in my conworld use a somewhat different calendar (because reasons) that starts, for example, at the vernal equinox and counts from there. The names are different because there's not the cultural background for the months that led to the names in English. (They also derive from the Telemor names, incidentally.) So... they're pseudo-English.

I like non-Latin-derived names of months (although I didn't implement that in Tautisca). Do you have a list anywhere?

That, I do. Keeping in mind that the first month is Spring, the names go as: (Tel/Eng)
Flèidivir/Flediver
Ilieuvir/Aguaver
Rossiavir/Rosaver
Heliu/Solstum
Țitriu/Citrum
Areuriu/Aurillum
Vitoto/Hersetom
Rossoto/Rogiatom
Tracioto/Pashtom
Dièrna/Lunichil
Calterna/Glaichil
Arjirna/Argenchil

(I forget where a lot of the names come from, though.)

Some of the English names look like they went through the intermdiation of some Romlang?
