Your currency looks so convincingly European. (It is supposed to be European, right?)

The countries in question are European-influenced and inspired, but there really isn't a precise geographic area I've pinned them to. (I'm too lazy to try to work through an althistory with them.) I just largely have the countries to be able to have excuses to make shiny money and passports and other things of interest/note.

Well Reddit had no interest in this map I made but perhaps you all will find something interesting. I compiled all of the data myself from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It took 2 weeks to hand color every county.

Got bored. Revisited old project. (Thanks to finlay for the photo.)
Am incidentally also looking for people to offer up photos to appear on banknotes...

Hey Viktor, that's a cool map. I'm having a hard time telling the difference between "Trade, transportation, utilities" and "Other services", though! For example, which is the dark areas in northern North Dakota?

I've been building and repairing guitar pedals.

I fixed my father's old fuzz and wah pedal from the 70's. What it looks like:

(The second one isn't the actual pedal: I had forgotten to take a picture before giving it back.)

What it feels like: I HAVE REFORGED MY FAMILY'S ANCESTRAL WEAPON!!

I've just finished a Fuzz Face and Rangemaster clone. Here it is, along with a pedal I made last year.

Unfortunately the Fuzz Face part doesn't sound as good as I hoped... my quest for the perfect fuzz continues...

Very cool! What's it made from, and do you have any plans for it?

I spun it with two plies of white and one of a variegated green/black/gold. The white stuff is superfine merino wool, and the green is a merino/silk blend. It turned out QUITE soft and I'm quite happy with it.

I already mailed it off to Canada. :P I'm in the redditgifts yarn exchange. I hope the recipient likes it.

Niiiiiice! What is the technical name for such a thing - does it qualify as a "skein"?

That is indeed a skein.

I mean, it looks super-soft... perfect for a blanket (so wish my mom would've taught me how to crochet...). But hopefully you get some nice yarn in exchange for some nice projects.

Side-note: I'm also now starting to redo more banknotes in my project, which means I'm also looking for people to contribute their souls mugshots. (Especially women, as what I would like to do is have alternating male-female-male-female pictures on the banknotes as much as possible. Similar to the last series of German mark notes, in fact.)

Not perfect for a blanket, actually! It's quite a fine yarn, and given the materials it's not machine washable whatsoever. This is enough for a small project—a headband or a small hat.

If you want to learn to crochet, I would totally recommend teaching yourself. Youtube is more patient than any teacher.
