It's not, you have to refer to the i.- server in order to use a hotlink. It's a thing some imageserver sites do use to economize on server use.

You put the page url in the img tags rather than the image url. It's not really to do with the site as such. Also, sometimes the board balks if you give it something that doesn't end with ".png" or ".jpg" (although I think it's stopped doing that since the major upgrade).

Pharazon: When I saw your pic, I immediately thought "Cathbad" (which is either a good or a bad thing). 'Tis a nice picture, though... where was it taken?

I think there's more a resemblance to Gulliver than to Cathbad. If Gulliver weren't pulling faces in like every recent photo it'd probably be clearer.
