What's so interesting about you not speaking a Scandinavian language? Oh wait… He probably refers to the fact that Danish, Swedish and Norwegian form a dialect contiunuum.

I think he could have specified which he speaks. It's not as if they are all the same. Finnish (a Scandinavian but not Nordic language) is not even of the same family.

Usually I speak Swedish or Pite and maybe I should have said "nordic" but the term didn't creep up on me at that time when it should and now it is too late, So whatever.

Aren't all Scandinavian languages Nordic, but there are Nordic languages that are certainly not Scandinavian? Or are they completely separate things?

But Finnic and Lappic languages have been spoken for a very long time, and still are spoken, in parts of both Sweden and Norway, so what the fuck does whether Finland is Scandinavian or not have to do with it? Properly, Denmark isn't Scandinavian either.

In every U.S. presidential election between 1976 and 2004, the Republican nominee for president or for vice president was either a Dole or a Bush.

Great! This year I should enrol in one of the community college programs for it.

Haha, maybe. :P Apparently it's a belief that bad things happen but in the end it works out, which isn't so much religion as a rather dippy-sounding philosophy, but it's as good an approach as any for me.

Though I like the sound of the religion as according to Sirred...
