What is true, is true, dude XD

And long-term residents assert that is an old problem. It happened before, in other elections (general, autonomic, european...). A big LOL

What do you exactly mean by "virtual voting"? As far as I know there's two ways of voting if you reside in a foreign country: 1. thru embassy (you vote in situ, with a ballot box), or 2. thru mail.

If it's not possible to vote electronically in Spain it's harder to see that in its embassies!

Creating short histories for 50 Hellesan noble houses and their mutual relationships and alliances can be funny and tedious at the same time...

A novel I'm writing since 2008. Now I'm doing further conworlding to have a clearer idea of what happened in the decades prior to the main events described in the book.

At where I am working right now, which I have only been working at for about a month, but where I kept looking for other job opportunities because it was nominally only an eight week contract, another job opportunity has opened up as a contract-to-hire position. As it seems like it might be more interesting and make better use of my skills in the long run, I have taken the path of least resistance in going along with the hiring process. Yet at the same time, I feel very mixed about it, especially as I am comfortable where I work right now, and as my current employer is offering to make my current position a contract-to-hire with better pay until I am hired on permanently.

I'm fascinated that just by changing the gender of a Spanish word the semantics are changed, and as a conlanger it could be a good way of naturalising a language (Alahithian doesn't have gender, but I might have other ideas). I have a small list in my head, which is nothing compared to what I have seen,

So I looked at this, read the intro and then the first few words, and carried on down the list wondering when it would end. I carried on looking on with a mix of fascinaton and horror: "Wow, that's a neat feature"/"I have to learn those?!"

Mixed feelings to say the least. :-D

Three months ago I didn't have HIV, which is awesome. But now I have to wait another three months to find out whether I got it or not in between three months ago and yesterday, which is not awesome.

Swedish does something similar with the indefinite article, so.... ett plan(a plane) and en plan(a plan)

certainly if you've got cause to think you've got HIV from it then, yeah, perhaps 'scandalous' isn't the exact word but it's not exactly just a matter of accidentally tripping up on your way to buy a pint of milk and grazing your hands

It's just a check, not because I think I might have it.

if you don't think you might have it, then why would you check, and why would a check cause you anxiety?

Because it's possible I could be wrong and do have it.

Well no. I think that I don't, but I'm aware I could be wrong.

but that is how beliefs work:

if you think P, but also you think you might be wrong about thinking P -- that is, you are a rational human being who does not think a) everything is black and white and b) you have all the right answers -- and so what you actually think is "*maybe* P", then that means you also think "maybe not P"

why else would you submit to an AIDS test if not to confirm or unconfirm a suspicion that you have AIDS? That is what it is *for*. And if, for some reason, you did not think you might have AIDS but did so for some other reason, then doing such a thing would not cause you any anxiety.

Well okay, I do think maybe and maybe not, but I don't think in 50:50 all the time, which is why I said I think I don't have it, because that's what I mostly think.

who said 50:50? but certainly Prob(fuck i have aids) is high enough for you to think it's worth getting a medical test. certainly higher than e.g. Prob(fuck i have giardiasis)?
