...but it's too cold at night, and my slippers aren't enough to keep my feet warm.

It's suddenly quite cold here too. I've got a fire going, which is nice and cosy. But you've got to stand next to it to get warm.

Here winter is coming too, but my room is hit by the sun all day long so it's warm until late at night when I'm warm in bed. Until 6:45. Oh God Why.

Yes, also warm in my home for he most part of the morning and early afternoon. Problem is when't gets dark.

This year I've been breeding cats to use as little heaters.

This year I've been breeding cats to destroy the house and leave poos where they shouldn't be (because one little tikis-mikis doesn't like to "share" the tray).

I started the year off with one cat, and now it's risen to four (there were 7 others, but they've got homes).

Oh, that reminds me: the mum of all 10 kittens (two separate litters just this year) is really pissed off because we're not letting her out. Good news is she's not getting pregnant again by that stray tomcat (we've called him El Fresco, or Mr. Fresh). But it'll be a joy the day she'll be spayed and we can let her out; until then she'll go round hissing and spitting at the others...

There's something a bit thrilling about seeing high water pour over pavements you yourself have walked, but the thought of what it will take to remove the muck and debris left behind makes me queegy.
