No problem! I helped test a sound changer for another conlanging site, so I've got pretty good at debugging problems with them.

Aha! :)

Now I have noticed something new. Space doesn't seem to count as word boundary when you're using the ellipsis. Test this:
Code:
Sound changes:
ˈ//ˈ…_

Input lexicon:
ɑ̃ːˈʃĩː suˈlu

Unfortunately I can't test this bare bones thing myself right now, because SCA2 just stopped working completely. :( But my complex sound changes seem to suggest that space doesn't count.

Yeah, it's not working for me either.

OK, the ellipsis should handle word boundaries now.

(Remember to use shift-reload to make sure you're not running a cached page.)

dhok, I looked at your ellipsis problem and I still need to look more. Looking at the code, I'm pretty sure it's implemented wrong and I'm not sure why it ever works. :P

Oh, I just love it when I'm trying to fix code, and realize there's no way it should've worked in the first place... good luck with sorting it out. :-D

New feature for gen: an output type of All possible syllables. Does what it says on the tin. (There is no randomness at all, so the dropoff controls are ignored.)

I needed this for a project and I figured I'd make it general. Plus someone once asked for it.

I've tested it up to something over a million syllables... it worked but I wouldn't get much crazier than that with it.

Thank you! :-D

Now I've run into a very mysterious problem. :?

Wut? It seems like lines 3 and 4 in the sound changes don't get executed for some reason. I was thinking that maybe the stress marks in the input lexicon aren't the same as in the code, because in the output some of them look fatter than the others. But I copypasted some into fileformat.info, but they're all the same Unicode character. I've had the stress rules in my code for a long time while I've been working with it, but this problem didn't appear until now. :?

I got it to work. I copied my cody into a new document, used search and replace to turn things like V[+mid,-long,-nasal] into Ƴ which is needed for SCA2, and then pasted that code back to SCA2, and then it would work. But I still don't know what caused the problem in the first place. Refreshing the browser did not help.

OK. That was about the gnarliest set of parameters I've seen, so I would probably have just tried to see if the first few rules had the problem.

Okay, I have a problem.

I'm trying to make it so that a certain sound change applies only to syllables after the first, and only to lone vowels. However, I have tried two methods, and neither one works.

My first method was this:

1/2/VC…_[C#]

It works fairly well, but it tends to skip every other syllable. So I tried this instead:

1/2/_/#(C)(C)_

And this not only changes the syllables I want to change, but also diphthongs and initial syllables! So, how do I make it so that this sound change hits only lone vowels and doesn't affect the first syllable? Thank you.

Try inserting a mark between syllables, first. For example:
3=range consonants after the first of an onset cluster
4=range of vowels at the end of diphthongs
/./_C(3)V
/./V(4)_V
Then you can make the following rules:
1/2/.(C)(C)_
.//_

Assuming all syllables begin with a consonant, what's wrong with:

/!/#C_
1/2/C_C
1/2/C_#
!//_

?
Seems straightforward, if i'm not missing anything. Or if you're going to do a bunch of these things:

A/E/#C_
A/O/C_C
A/O/C_#
E/A/_
...where A is the starting class, O is the desired class, and E is a dummy class
