What is this writing?
Re: What is this writing?
D'ni is very loosely based on Hebrew. It's not surprising that a Semetic script would remind someone of it. But the script is CLEARLY not D'ni.
I've examined some examples of Hebrew-related scripts online, and none of them quite match. Is it possible that it's the scriptual equivalent of "Loren Ipsum", nonsense gibberish meant to create the impression of content without any actual substance? Someone could very easily riff off Roman letters, I presume it would be equally simple to do so with arabic.

I've still got my money on a non-semitic language using a script derived from Aramaic. My Parthian shot

In what respects? I looked at it a while ago and concluded D'ni was basically English. More affixation to be sure, but the syntax and grammatical distinctions are identical, with the trivial exception of adjectives following nouns.Melend wrote:D'ni is very loosely based on Hebrew.

Re: What is this writing?
Lexicon-wise. Cf. Yahvo (name of the sole deity), el (adj. high)
Also, there are non-trivial differences between D'ni and English. Here are a few examples off the top of my head: The possessive pronouns (my, your, etc.) are cliticised (cf. kor-on 'his book'), adverbs such as 'mostly', 'not very much', and so on (expressing degree) are constructed using the b'- prefix and a number between one and 25 (cf pahrah b'-rish 'very big', lit. 'big to-twenty'), and one common construction for a passive is to use the progressive aspect prefix and a passive suffix (cf. do-l-gel-en-ij 'it has been written') from gel 'write'). Those hyphens are to separate the morphemes.

Does it matter? Just because you don't give a rat's arse doesn't mean that I can't answer a question, and give some examples of why D'ni is not an English cipher.
Re: What is this writing?
Because the OP has asked a very simple question and dni isn't the answer and also shut up

Telling people to shut up for no reason isn't a very nice thing to do.

Legion, try to be civil. We've never had a strict on-topic rule and you're not going to be able to impose one now.

Re: What is this writing?
To be fair the differences listed so far are pretty trivial.
Re: What is this writing?
D'ni and whether we are all or in part stupid and lame aside, my question for the OP is, what was the movie you found this in?

Taking the D'ni conversation to PM, since I have a feeling it'll go on for a while.

It does resemble the following a bit, in terms of style.
