I remember that there are some good restaurants at Schiphol, but they are outside the secured terminal i.e. the one for arrivals, departures and connections which one cannot leave without going through security again, if I'm not mistaken.
Сам принцип!hwhatting wrote:They only had panini in the Restaurants? Nothing else?

No, there were other things. I saw a club sandwich and chips, and the breakfast place has expensive omelettes with expensive fresh squeezed juice. Truthfully, I didn't buy a lot, because all my money is in dollars, and the conversion rate was bad, and they charged a €3 fee for "conversion." It's not a lot of money, and I probably sound cheap, but I don't like being nickled-and-dimed. The very principle!
Well, let's reverse the question: why would it be? It's grammatical to put it at the end ("...dat ik in een buis vastzit"), but with PPs, there's no need for it.Viktor77 wrote:Het stoort me dat ik vastzit in een grote metalen buis**.

I'd use "vliegvelden", or just "op het vliegveld". "Luchthaven" sounds pretty formal.hwhatting wrote:Ja, op luchthavens is alles duur.

Gdzie to było? W aptece?
Waar was dat? In een apotheek?
Where was that? At a pharmacy?
Ceny w restauracjach...
Restaurant Prices... Paying for water is also normal in German Restaurants, but toilets are usually free. Sometimes the toilet ladies put up a plate where you can leave some coins if you like.

I'm not sure how to translate "note to self". If it comes up in Dutch, I just use the English (or a jocular "noot aan zelf"). If I had to paraphrase, I'd say something "Om te onthouden:" or "Opletten:" or the like. Also, though "Duits hoofdlettergebruik" is correct it feels somewhat of an anglicism, I'd say "het hoofdlettergebruik in het Duits" instead.Viktor77 wrote:Zelfopmerking: let op Duits hoofdlettergebruik.

*1) There are several possible words you could use here (das Gatter, die Barriere, or das Drehkreuz if it’s a turnstile, but it’s never das Tor – Tor implies something big, like a city gate or a stable door; the only exception is Gartentor, which can be relatively small. Tor also mostly implies something connecting the outside of a building or a settlement with the inside, not a gate or door inside a building.jal wrote: In den Niederlanden, habe ich niemals in Restaurants Toilettenfrauen gesehen. In the Netherlands I've never seen a toilet lady in a restaurant. Restaurant toilets are always free. But in stores, in case there's a toilet one has to pay. Sometimes there's a toilet lady, sometimes also just a gate. In both cases the amount is fixed.
*1) You could use the simple genitive if C. A. would be the director or main actor of the film. Yesterday I went to the cinema with Ziz to see the new Captain America film, “Civil War”. I liked it overall, because I’m in love with the Captain, but I did think the beginning took too long. The battles between the Captain and Ironman though were fabulous. This morning we made pizza; with wine it’s the perfect breakfast.

First, the rules of this thread are that you add a translation in English. Secondly, there's a "questions about German" thread that you can use for actual questions.
