I haven't finished it yet, anyway, because I got very confused about something in Rickard's translation. :P

EDIT: Besides, unless the other team have been sneaking theirs through the gates without telling us in this thread, we're miles ahead of them. ;)

But, they could catch up easily. We might get several users who take several days apiece.

Sorry, I don't speak Redneck. Anyway, I forgot to do any translating yesterday. But I finished it just now and sent it to FSI.

There's someone out there that doesn't recognize "hella" as stereotypically SoCal?

Someone who is neither a native English speaker nor knows enough about English dialects to confidently pinpoint what "SoCal" refers to, perhaps.

I think the time you allowed is fine. I'm sure not everyone will be able to get to it right away, and it's probably better to allow too much time than not enough.

It's not. Chill. (Astraios is perfectly within limits to take until the end of December if he pleases. Again I'll point out that we have one user in your team who can't do it until the end of December/beginning of January anyway, so I'd actually prefer it if someone decides to drag out your team for a while.)

We only ever decided to put it into teams (years ago, I mean) because otherwise there'd be 20 people and it can drag on for months.

I'm a native speaker, and I know full well what SoCal is, but I didn't know that about "hella". I thought it was just an Americanism.

And I'm just about ready to send the text, but I can keep Viktor in suspense for a few more days if you think I should. ;)

So wait, if our team is ahead of schedule, does that mean the deadline changes to 3 days from whenever you receive it, or is always going to be according to the schedule finlay posted?

I know, sorry. It's just that about 99% of the time I hear someone is talking about "hella" they're either making fun of or complaining about Californians, so it's kind of funny when someone doesn't recognize it.

Carry on.

Received the text from FSI, but I won't be able to translate it for a couple days because I really need to finish this essay first.

That's funny, he never sent it to me. FSI!!

(And of course, that's fine, your deadline is the 22nd anyway - I've not been putting them forward)

Question! How do I translate? Do I translate literally even if it makes no sense (only grammatical sense but no contextual sense). Or do I attempt to make perfect contextual sense out of even it means altering something?

I translated what it actually said, not what I thought it should say (or probably did say in the original text). I think that was what most people did last time.
