Font creation

Post by Dakana »

Hi all!

I am working on an alphabet in which the consonants have three different forms (initial, medial and final) rather like Arabic. I want to be able to type this using a customized English keyboard layout (I use MSKLC for this). Anyways, I am having no end of trouble finding out how to make a font that does this. I'm using HighLogic Font Creator 6.0. Basically, how do I get a consonant to automatically change depending on its location in the word?

Thanks in advance for advice all :)

Widely supported except for more elaborate features, also features are bound to certain codepoints in Unicode, so YMMV:

Conscripter's joy because it allows you to define your own rules as you need them for your script, but it's mostly unsupported:

Might be more flexible than MSKLC:

Font = Typeface + Style + Size. i think you're looking for typefaces.

I use ukelele for this stuff, but you could always use dead keys
