How did beard make the shift to "old radon machine"?

Ha! xD I see how it went radioactive. I read "Lo haya laish mekhune Mardon..." (The man known as Mardon didn't have...) as "Lo haya laish mekhona miradon..." (The man didn't have a machine (made) from radon), because mekhona miradon and mekhune Mardon are written the same in Hebrew...

And the "beard > old-fashioned" thing is because זקן "zakan" means beard but obviously that didn't fit with the way I'd read the preceding words, so I thought it was זקן "zaken" old-fashioned.

Next time we have a text, maybe we should make a rule that if you're writing in a script with non-obligatory vowel-marking, you should write the vowels for personal names?

Yeah, but Astraios's mistake was because of Antilli's mistake. Antilli should have wrote האיש המכונה מרדון or האיש שמכונה מרדון, not just האיש מכונה מרדון. Anyway, the result was very amusing.
And I love the name shifts Chinese and Japanese caused in Team Charm.

This is hilarious! I guess there's something to be said for obligatory definiteness concord in attributive adjectives after all.

Hey, keep trying! Here's a quick lesson on "sin", "sitt", "sina" for you (excuse my probably linguistically incorrect terms): they always refer to the actor of the sentence. So, the way you've used them it looks like Marton's shoulders actually belong to his hair, his eyes belong to...themselves? (no, that's actually completely ungrammatical and doesn't mean anything), and his beard belongs to "man". You should have used "hans" instead of "sina" or "sitt" in all three instances.

...I knew that ひげ was beard. I read it and thought beard. And then I translated it as mustache. In both languages. I think I just subconsciously wanted to use the word mustache, because it's a fun word that I never get to use.

Interestingly enough, my dictionary translates it as "moustache, beard, whiskers", although we only learned the beard meaning in class.

Ah, I probably should have used "tunica" instead of "toga". Less Rome-specific. Also, the "soul" part came from "animum attendō", which means to pay attention, I believe, but literally "direct/pay attention to one's mind/soul". Still, that was quite fun. I do have to admit, I totally missed the fact Cormani was a girl; it wasn't really indicated in the text anywhere, and the fact that the person being compared to her was a man swayed my opinion towards her being one as well.
